Brf jars growing slow
    #25935591 - 04/15/19 10:06 AM (10 days, 3 hours ago)

I inoculated my 1/2 pint jars 24 days ago. They look healthy but are only half way colonized and growing very slow. The temperature is cool, usually around 70 degrees (room temp.)  Are they going to make it or is the temp dangerously low?

From what I understand, 70 degrees is perfectly fine. Pics please  someone a lot more experienced may be able to help you out if they can see what's going on.

And if it makes ya feel better: I inoculated 6 jars on 3/29. Since then, I've had two colonize like wildfire, consolidate, and placed in FC, two that just finished colonizing, and two that are only halfway.

It takes at least a few weeks to see growth. Best thing you can do is just leave them alone (I know that's easier said than done).

I keep my grow area 68-70 F. So your good. I have noticed the lower the temp the thicker the fruit.

Its possible u made your substrate too dry or the air is drying it out.

My grew slow but that was one because of cold temps and two because the air is dry and dried out my cakes while they colonized. I noticed this with lid caps that had filter discs.
