While I hate cops, you prob made the right choice to cover yourself. I've skipped the cops part and had it come back to bite me later... If it's an area u frequent,  you could run into him again and should u beat him to death or badly next time if he were to recognize and attack u, this call to the PD could be the difference between pleading self defense in the future or potentially being made out to be the aggressor...so at least now theres a record of it...

So while I cant say if I would have done the same, from a legal standpoint, it was prob smart just in case

that was my thoughts exactly, but I had a couple of other millenials crying after I said it that I was smearing their whole generation with a generalization.

Generalizations tend to come about from observations

Id never heard of the term snowflake until it was used for that particular generation

I wasnt expecting commiserations but certainly didnt expect condemnation

Every generation fucking sucks a little bit more. Just gotta find the good ones.

there are definitely good ones Im not saying that

I was just saying theres no way it would be someone from the old school expecting to poke a bear and not expect to get bitten kinda thing

Plus he even admitted he didnt get hurt, so it seems like the guy he picked trouble with showed some mercy and didnt go full on so why not show some mercy back and drop the charges

Let's put it to the vote. Do you think OP is justified in involving the law here? Do you think OP could have avoided this whole situation? Or is he reacting to a case of a bruised ego?
.
Is OP doing the right thing?
You may choose only one

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

What would those stand your ground laws have to say about this?

Who would have been able to shoot who?

I think mercy is a good thing to have in this situation, OP, if you can’t see it any other way atleast try and see it as being merciful, you both disrespected eachother and you can be the bigger man right here and right now, you will look back on it and feel better about it.

Im unsure why op keeps going after one mod by making threads complaining about him when another mod has come to similar conclusions regarding his actions

I dont think jsb is being unshroomy as you put it, I think you're being unshroomy by going to cops for having your ego hurt

Poll questions are at the top of the poll box.

In this case: 'Is OP doing the right thing?'

You're lucky I don't report you.

I do frequent the area the assault occurred in very often, so it definitely was the right choice to call the po-po.  You make some good points.

@Jokeshopbeard, I already politely told you to leave my thread once.  I'm now asking you a second time.  Please leave my thread.  You've been causing unneeded drama for a long time now in my thread, and flaming me multiple times, and it's time for you to leave.

Mercy is important and the world needs more of it.
I would love to be merciful to the guy in my story, but I think it would be foolish to give it because the guy is an obvious danger to the public.  He needs to be disciplined so he doesn't act-a-fool again and end up killing some body with his car.

LOL. You think you have any sort of ownership over this thread? Hilarious. You made my day with that.

As you can see from my poll above, you're 13/0 against when it comes to you being in the wrong here. Clutching at straws to save face much?

So I'm calling you on it. Don't like it, then don't start a thread asking for opinions. Or you could have closed the thread when I asked you to politely do so.

However there's no way I'm leaving whilst it's still open. I'm having way too much fun watching you get cut down for being a spiteful and petty human being. This is nothing compared to what you're putting the other guy through...

Especially now that you're tryna get me chastised just for having an opinion that goes against your own. You should see the grin on my face as I type this. You, sir, are an incredibly funny human. "I guess we'll have to get some administrators involved here".

LOL.

No one agrees with you man.  Does that tell you anything?

When I think one guy is an asshole, he's probably an asshole.  But when I start thinking every guy is an asshole, then I am the asshole.

The parallel you can imagine....

Now, suppose you had not smacked his car with your sack.  Suppose he drove on with you shaking your fist in the rearview. Would you have called the cops then?  Yes or No.

If so, then why did you not just do that?  You lost your cool and whacked your sack, just as he lost his cool.

If not - If you would not have called the fuzz & had he not gotten out of his car, then maybe the concern isn't over his driving and public safety then.

I hope you can admit to some of this, and see it in another way.  Please be cool and drop these charges man.  Come back to us!  We want the lady slayin piano playin lifeiswhatyoumake back. 😎
