Pins on cake seem unhealthy

This cake seems to be struggling..but the others are fine. I’m misting when they look dry. Temps range from 70-75.. I open two windows for a few hours daily to try to maintain fae. Can anyone tell if they are fine or what’s up..? Lmk if any other info is needed. The pins just look kinda grayish when they started brown. Almost like they’re drying up but I make sure I mist when needed. Thank you in advance.

Looks pretty wet in there...FAE should be constant not just a few hours a day.

Before you start...Do you have a Pressure Cooker and a Dehydrator? I highly recommend getting both!

So you think it’s too wet and not enough fae? It’s getting warm enough, I’ll be able to keep the windows open all day and just fruit at lower temps than I am now. It’s just weird because I have a 112qt sgfc in the same room with two double stack cakes and they’re doing great.. (the 112qt is waiting on many more cakes that are almost ready to dunk)

Did you just mist before these pictures?
What style FC are you using for these cakes?
You mentioned opening a window for a few hours for FAE...that's why I said it needs to be constant, but it's not a matter of just opening a window.
Air needs to be constantly replenishing in the FC...opening a window isn't really doing much.

Air needs to be constantly replenishing in the FC...opening a window isn't really doing much. when I wake up every morning I open both windows in my room and close them before bed. There is a small fan in there that I run at night (it’s not facing any fc’s)

"unhealthy"
That pin is a mutant, common with MS grows. Also don't mist your cakes so much. Misting the FC and perlite is cool, but try not to mist directly on the cakes would be my advice.

In regards to the mutant pin, like what LogicaL said it's common.
I was just commenting on the source of FAE.
The FC can be in a room with no windows and get sufficient FAE...the opening a window bit prompted my response.
And they looked wet af is all

That “mutant” is a common thing lately. I’ve had four stems bust through the cap, I thought the caps dried and the stem was able to push through. I said unhealthy because the caps went from brown to grey and they seem to be cracking....

You don't EVER have to worry about not getting enough FAE in a SGFC. And you can take that to the bank homeboy!

You can put a SGFC inside a vacuum sealed chamber in outer space and it will still dry out the perlite before you put the lid on.

I was under the impression that they needed FRESH air exchange..I honestly didn’t know that the air in my room was fresh enough for the exchange.
These are all among my first grows. Like I just recently started getting fruits so I’m still learning.

"Fresh" air refers to any new air replacing the stagnant "old" air. So any exchange is good basically.

Post updated pics to compare the relative growth over 24h it can give you an indication about the health of the fruits.

Yup, looks good to me. Also try to handle your cakes as little as possible. They are somewhat deliciate.

That's why when you talked about opening a window for FAE I was like, "hold up player!"
A SGFC made to the correct specs will have FAE forever...no window opening required and your pins look fine bruh!

Was just about to say youre damaging developing knots and other areas of producing myc by touching them. Try to limit handling them for dunking but not inbetween flushes. Anyway it's probably no biggie that you picked up the cake but now you know how to do it even better! Gl and cake looking mostly on the good side
