Or.
Just case the grain with coir. Shit fruites quick too. But u gotta use shoeboxes or trays or something like that. But it works.
Wish I saw this first hah oh well
I think I like your idea better. If it works. For sure

If i over misted 1 of my shoebox grows a bit, would unlatching the top and placing it at an angle to allow more fae be the way to correct surface conditions? currently waiting on pins, first grow

if you are around, just take the lid off. Put it back on when it looks better.

Think my first flush is coming to a close. Harvested some early fruits, and now the majority of them seem like their veils will break at the same time. So I believe I should float the substrate and harvest everything - what do I do with the (few) smaller mushrooms that havenβt matured yet? Do I harvest them all or leave them be?

from spore prints I made 4 plates, I opened/sacrificed 1 up to check it out, perfect, no visibile contam, smells great and was fully colonized. My question is, I still have 3 now, do i NEED to transfer to another plate or do you guys think I can get away with going to grain without doing mutiple transfers? I assume since that 1 seemed clean, the other 3 are as well?

Iβd xfer at least once or twice more for peace of mind and you might isolate some faster growth that way as well. That said, they could be fine as is but I wouldnβt base that on the first plate you looked at.

I stopped using my t.1 plates. Even if they look uniform. I was in that habit and having shit luck with it. It may not be necessary but I think it's a good practice

I ended up making transfers with 2 of the plates so now I am sitting with 1 fully colonized plate, 7 transfers, and 7 cooked grain jars
ready to get shit started and am ahead of the curve for once.

I experimented with a single grain jar, wanted to find out if epoxy would hold a SFD on a plastic jar lid... It does but it won't withstand a PC cycle. Came out of my PC looking carmelized and when I shook the jar the grain hitting the lid was enough to pop it off.
Eh, oh well. Minimal loss and it satisfied my curiosity.

Harvested my first flush and took some core tissue samples from some fruits that had nice clusters to some no pour agar dishes. When can I reasonably expect to see growth on the plates?
I also made some prints, so if all else fails I can put those to agar as well.

I usually see growth starting within two days or so.

Ugh I've got 3 gnarly contaminated monos I need to clean out but I have absolutely no motivation or desire to deal with this shit right now.
I should have just stuck em out in the rain last night with no lids it was storming pretty bad, probably would have washed them out for the most part
