Pins looks like cauliflower
    #25933555 - 04/14/19 03:41 AM (5 years, 9 months ago)

First grow and my friend said this isnt mushrooms and to get rid of it. I thought it was just mycelium growing on top of pins cuz I messed up my trigger somehow. Can I get some opinions. I found blue/green on part of one tray. Golden Teacher
What could it be slime or cobweb mold?
Also does no one use this website or do people just ignore?

Conditions look overly wet in your (GH?) setup which slows down evaporation rates
considerably, hindering the substrate from 'breathing' properly.
I probably wouldn't recommend this type of FC for someone growing mushrooms for the first time.
If you don't have a firm grasp on what the needed conditions are and how to create/maintain those
then GH's type of FC's can become problematic and caude you migraine :eatingout:
Neither am I saying you should give up your current fruiting setup.
But if you start browsing the first link in my sig a few times a week or a few times a day
you'll save yourself lots of time and energy that is otherwise lost in failed projects because of poor planning
and decision making. Could you describe your setup so that we know what yiure working with?

Also pinning is initiated automatically when the substrate gets fully colonized,
if the culture is reasonably clean and fruiting coniditions aren't catastrophic then fruits will usually always pop up.
(pinning quality/density will be roughly proportionate to the quality of substrate and surface conditions during fruiting) Gl

Its a 56.3 x 76.7 in 8 shelf greenhouse. And what happened is didnt realize how much things were going to cost or whether or not this grow was even going to happen as i lost my place to live and im going through alot. So right now this is in a closet with two 6 in holes in the door cuz its my old grow room and i had ducting hooked up so i leave that. I do not have any kind of filter over these holes. My hygrometer seems to not go over 80% although i often have a light but visble fog and hear raindrops often. I have a vicks warm mist humidifier and a another cool mist that sucks and im basically just using to filter the incoming air. All i do i zip the tent up around the humidifier so it take aor from outside and runs it inside through a moist filter. And a loghtbulb outside the tent
What i wanted to do is make and untra sonic fogger have no humidifiers with controllers.

Just so you know, IMO constant 80% RH could easily become contraproductive as it does not really mimic natural conditions with the constant natural ebb and flow of climate and 'optimal' growing conditions.
"The rule is the exception" kind of mening that a varying humidity is best (stagnant waters breathe reptiles) Idk I'm waaaay past bed time. :bongload:

Don't worry about humidity just start observing your substrates and you will know how to treat them.

You can open air fruit a shoebox in 20% RH and you can do it in 70% RH and get equally good results.
You see high humidity is not a vital deal breaker nor is constant stabile humidity. Humid air protects your substrates from evaporating off too quickly and the higher the humidity the slower the evaporation rate, but too high humidity can halt the VITAL evaporation that the organisms needs to grow healthy.
