How do I convert 32-bit to 64-bit?

I recently realized I need to update my computer to 64-bit, but I don't want to lose my 32-bit data. How do I convert my 32-bit data to 64-bit data?

Yeah just remember your 32 bit programs won’t work anymore and if they don’t have 64 bit versions your shit outta luck....you may have to run maybe a virtual os to run your 32 bit stuff..on your 64 system...why do you need so much memory?

Yup. And i looked up the limits of 32-bit is only 4GB.
At 64-bits, the limit for RAM is apparently 2TB! That is a huge leap!

And the crazy part is that 2 terabytes is just a practical limitation, a 64-bit system can theoretically address about 16 million terabytes of RAM.

Assuming you're using Windows, you can still run most of you're 32-Bit programs on 64-Bit. The programs would be installed in the C:\Programs Files(x86) instead of C:\Program Files.

Your data has nothing to do with the OS being 32 or 64 bit. This thread is one big list of confused ramblings.

A 64-bit system starts with a processor that supports 64-bit o/s's. A 64-bit o/s will not install on a system with a cpu that only has a 32-bit architecture; ie: an older cpu. A 64-bit o/s can run either 64 or 32 bit programs, but the drivers for hardware are specific to either 32-bit or 64-bit, not both.
