Protip who cares and it doesn't matter if the top layer or casing gets colonized or not.
Washed coir is 3-5x more expensive than pet store coir

Will try to keep all informed. I hope I didn't ramble but by this time of day I'm usually very bleary-eyed and fogged out because I work weird hours. Good luck with your endeavors, especially the pans.
Come back and let us know how it goes. I'm curious to see the progress.

Just being curious, since I've been making my first slants a week ago. What kind of damage happened to your slants and were you using popsicle sticks in them?

So when im growing one cake in humidity chamber with wet vermiculite at bottom and leave lid ajar im fucked? Most of my brf cakes are finishing first flush, one i left to see how good humidity chamber works, and this only cake is not pinning, idk what's wrong. They fully colonized pretty much in same time

Figure I’d ask this here. Using an unmodified tub w lid upside down. On my first flush, noticed that some of my mushrooms now have fuzzy feet. I know that means I need more FAE so I put the lid perpendicular. Will this make the fuzzy feet go away or am I stuck w them?

A little fuzzy isn't bad. When it starts to look like your mushrooms are going to a punk concert, that's when you need to worry. Just move the lids off a little bit, like rotate and angle the lid 5 degrees. You won't need a lot more FAE, and too much will dry it out and give you even more problems. good luck!

A unmoded tub should get plenty of FAE, you probably have the same problem this guy had

Yea, unsure a bit. I’ve left the lid upside down the entire time. My coir I believe was at field capacity. I had to squeeze it super tight to get any water out of it. But will try to troubleshoot next time.
