Brown Rice Flour alternative question

I cant find BRF anywhere locally so i just purchased a bag of Gold Medal brand Whole Wheat Flour and also I bought a box of Hodgson Hill brand all natural buckwheat flour. Will either of these two work as good as the BRF? Anyone have any experience with buckwheat flour?

Just buy some brown rice and grind it up in a coffee grinder. You could also use popcorn or wild bird seed(remove the sunflower seeds) or millet. There has also been success of canned hominey. I have never heard of someone using wheat flower. Go with what is tried and what works, there are plenty of options.

Well I have read that they contain oils and are prone to contaminate. I have never used WBS so I don't know first hand of the downfalls/benefits of removing the sunflower seeds. I just like to be better safe than sorry. Besides, there are plenty of other nutrients in WBS.

PF Tek for simple minds says something about whole wheat flour if brown rice flower isnt available.
I just wanted to make sure that the Gold Medal brand of whole wheat flour will work and am also curious to know about buckwheat flour.
Thanks for any input on either!

i understand that you are looking for a flour that works well and i know nothing of the 2 you have mentioned.
i do have a recommendation though, if you have a wal-monopoly nearby go grab a bag of parakeet seed from the pet section and also pick up a coffee grinder while you are there. this works great as a flour for pf cakes and also produces better potency, or so i have read.
you could also just put whole brown rice in a coffee grinder and go from there. i would suggest the parakeet seed as millet seems to help in the long run.
good luck

It must state"USDA ORGANIC"and the ingredients must read ORGANIC. Here is a link http://www.arrowheadmills.com/products/category.php?cat_name=flours They all work great-but from my understanding of this site-you cant use it unless its organic due to fungicides and pesticides and..well you know-BADDD stuff. I have used the brown rice, rye, millet, and spelt flours from these people and they all have worked great for me.You can buy these in health food stores for $2.79-$5.79 a bag(depending on which flour). I hope this helps you out! DOC BTW- click on "where to find" and enter your zipcode for a store near YOU!!!!!

I normally use rye flour and it works fine for me. Last batch I used 50% BRF and rye flour, and didn't notice any difference.

Sunflower seeds are ok in small amounts, but not if there is a bunch in the mix. I am not sure why this is but I am sure you can find more info womewhere in this site.

Well, last night i went and bought a bag of brown rice (shure fine brand) I took it home and ground it all up in a blender. I was amazed at how well it pulverized it into flour.
Hope this works!!!

Just dunk the WBS in water, the sunflower seeds should float to the top.
