I don't understand, your first BRF jar colonized just now and you bought vermiculite today? How did you make the BRF cake? Lol
Yes 86F is too high but not unpossible. If you wanna stay safe then lower the temps to at least 77-78F

I would drop temp to lower 70's imo Pics of jars? Cause if it's growing tooo fast its most likely bad.

I buy the jars pre sterilized!! Once I master the cultivation process I plan on learning to make my own!! Just wanna make sure I have this down first. Lots to learn!!
So the verm I just bought for the dunk n roll. (:
The jars aren’t “colonizing” so to say but the bits of mycelium I put in there are attaching to the brf in jars. I can barely see it so it would be almost impossible to get a photo of what I’m seeing... But! Whenever I get more visible progress I will share for sure. ))

Ohhh and by the way. I have a myco bag that’s slowly colonizing as well. That’s what I was referring to when I said I saw rapid growth!!!

'Consolidation' is AFTER full colonization, but if you only recently inoculated your BRF jar then the jar is 'colonizing'
How did you inoculate your grain master if your very first grain bag was made from g2g? Boy oh boy you're really exercising my brain here (and stop buying pre-made stuff, that shit will teach you very little about this hobby.

Gotta learn what contamination looks like somehow and premade is excellent for that.

I bought spores. Inoculated master jar with those and then inoculated 4 more jars with the brf from the original jar

How exactly did you transfer myc from BRF jar to BRF jar? I'm curious

No dry verm Barrier and a grain jar gas exchange lid would work but at that point it begs the question of why in the world would you do cakes still if you're that proficient

I've inoculated a set of BRF cakes with agar wedge once last year, took around 5 weeks to colonize. Ain't nobody got time for that

Learning to make your own (anything) is how you develop skills and insights!
I think 8 year olds with normal intelligence would be able to make BRF jars without much problems. I'm not saying don't do things your way, but if you're buying premade subs because you feel it's 'fuck up-able' then thing again I just reminding you that if you can make a dinner then you can make BRF cakes as well gl

Same process as g2g. Watched a million videos on YouTube to figure out how to do it. Sanatized a room very thoroughly. Used a still air box and cut little slices of mycelium from the cololnized jar and quickly put it into the other jar. It took like 2 hours all to gather but no contaminants or anyt problems so far. It’s been eight days and one jar is about 75% colonized. Two of them are around 50% and one is being a little slower and is at about 30%
I plan on doing this again in the future. :-)
