Alright, thanks. I thought maybe after 2 wks that it should be further along. I've read that with cubensis the grain colonization is faster. Should I wait until there is mycelium throughout the whole bag? Or pull out the nicer looking grains and put onto dishes after like another wk?

If that bag is only for agar and nothing else you could go ahead and use gloves and sterilized tweezers to get a grain for agar. If your going to do anything else with grain like Spawn then don’t touch it.

No I just saw you said after two weeks yeah pan myc Moves much faster than cubes I would imagine if that bag is not colonized by now something went wrong pans stall out sometimes for no apparent reason that’s why it’s always good to inoculate several things at once that’s why I prefer jars of failure rate is some thing you must take into consideration with pans never do just one of anything

Same here I’m glad you said that though I was thinking it was something I did. Some are just touchy I guess.
Hey do you shake your bulk bags? This is on day four and I want to shake it but I don’t know if the myc is strong enough yet.

Yeah it’s fine just break it apart and mix it all together and then kind of like settle it all back in the bottom and put it back on the shelf for a few days

I love this gator strain. For some reason I have such bad luck with isolates or just cultures in general when it comes to pans but the gator hasn’t let me down yet. Probably has a lot to do with me though.

So the tubs work on the same principle that they push in fog and then pull in dry air through the filters in separate intervals right?

Love the concept but I wonder, does the air need to be filtered when it comes through? Are pans more prone to contamination after being spawned with manure?

That’s what those filters on the sides of the tub are for. The tube sucks the air through those filters. Once the manure is colonized they are a whole lot less prone. But if you pasteurize completely and spawn to a clean container and there’s nothing bad in your spawn you should be fine.

Are there no pasteurization of the casing layer?

Thought I might aswell post this here aswell since you are the one who turned me on to led strips. Love the fact that I now have everything inside the greenhouse. Using some app on my phone to test to lux I get an average of 500 lux all over the greenhouse. Jake you have any info about how strong the light needs to be? I'm more worried about my gourmets tho so might not be best place for this question. Sorry skip it.. Thank you Jake

Hi Jake, Thanks very much for the awesome write-up. For your substrate mix: Anyway here is the recipe: 65% chopped straw (no need to pre hydrate) 35% manure 5% verm 1/2 cup gypsum (optional) Mix in water and bring to field capacity
Are these percentages by volume or weight? Thanks in advance!! BBR

@Blue, pretty sure its volume. But wait to confirm.
@Jake, thanks man super happy with the way it looks. Got another question for you bud. So I live in a tiny apartment and a grow gourmets from time to time. Problem is I done the mistake of missing when the mature and come home to a apartment full of spores which the wife hates and I know those amounts of spores or dangerous.
Could you help me figure out a idea to catch the spores somehow? I had thr idea before of have a fan blow out air through a filter but the filter always got so wet because of the air going out being so moist.
Maybe I'm missing a simple solution. Oh and I do not have the possibly to pipe the air outside, otherwise that would be an optional.
