Yeah I’ve had ones that do that too and they never work out when they wrinkle like that you might as well toss it in the back to score traps are very picky I think they also suffer from over domestication as the strain and circulation has been around for a while I would put that one on hold and work with a more prolific strain for now

Oh thats interesting maybe it is the ketchup cups I am using then. It seems like if they arent air tight air could get in and dry out the agar and mycelium. I have ten agar plates I think I will get those out and try those next time I do agar.
Ya some of the ones I have look like they are going down into the agar or something instead of spreading out on top. The first pic you posted has the same thing as mine where it makes straight lines that go down kind of.

What strain would you recommend? I dont really have access to prints except through online shops. I have been going through mushrooms dot com. There is a guy selling wild prints from Florida on a print trading forum I wonder if that would be better.

Honestly of all the pans I’ve worked with my phv is Consistently the most aggressive prolific pan i have worked with so far, when my mats are sub-par and everything else is struggling phv usually comes thru for me

I think all of them. I have a farberware instant pot that holds 162 when I set it to keep warm.

Ya I am pretty sure they all do because of regulations I think it has to be at least 1 or 2 degrees above 160f. I could be wrong though I checked mine with one of those thermometers you stick into the food or meat by sticking it in the center of the substrate every 2 or 3 hours and it did eventually get up to right around 160f in the center. The one I use is a Crock Pot. I saw this one on Ebay its a pretty big one (6 quart) for 35 dollars.- https://www.ebay.com/itm/Removable-6Quart-Slow-Cooker-Model-33230-Red-Crock-Pot-Home-Appliance/402319297697?hash=item5dac194ca1:g:QsoAAOSweYlfBWbu

When you make your bulk in the rice cooker and you said you load it in, do you just load it in whole or do you put mycobags or jars in with water around them. I have been making my bulk in mycobags in a pot on a stove set to 160 with a metal temp monitor that alarms at 165 then I set the stove to 140 and it hold at 165 for about 3 hours then I’ll let it go down overnight. Then I take the bags out and seal them and put them right in the fridge since I make about 4-5 5lb bags at once. You said you let the microbes build on the shelf for a week. Would this still happen in the fridge?
This is how I’ve been doing it but something is wrong with my methods because after about 5 days in fruiting after full colonization and casing about 5-7 days later I’m getting trich. God I hate summer now. Also my spawn is clean i look it over for several minutes before opening and smelling I know it’s not the spawn. Either contam hiding in my bulk or my casing.

Yeah I load mine into the 2 1/2 gallon Ziploc bags I line the pressure cooker Pot with the bag then load it full packing it down with my hand so there’s about 2 inches left above it then I add my water making sure it soaks down to the bottom and the bag starts to float then I use a couple lead rings to put in between the lid of the electric cooker in the top of the bag so that it is push down and stays fully submerged

We were talking about ketchup cups the other day and this is one of the plates I use. Got 50 on amazon for fairly cheap. They are re-usable, completely air and liquid right, pc-able and dishwasher safe too. I just drill a really small hole in the top for the pressure not even sure if it necessary because they came out of the cook just fine.

Do you think because of my smaller fogger and hose size I should be extending the wet cycle.

Hi Joc, i had to go direct from syringe to grain w pan cyan hawaiian. Agar wasn't working. Going to xfer grain to agar next, but wanted to see what you thought about this rye bag @ the 2wk mark since inoculation with syringe. Let it go longer? The growth shown in the pic is just about the only growth I'm seeing the bag after 2 wks.
