I line the cooker pot with a jumbo ziplock then stuff in full of my premixed pre hydrated sub, pack in as much as I can leaving about a inch for water. Press out the air seal it add water place a few jar rings on top so that when I put the lid on the bag is submerged rather than floating

Cool thanks. How much sub volume can your cooker fit in it?

Jake thank you a lot for writing this tek! It's really awesome the tubs are flushing and pumping like crazy!
I got a question. Are the fruits from the right safe to eat? These came from a tub that had lot of humidity in its substrate (I exceeded pouring water after first flush and didn't realise). They feel humid and kinda rubbery to the touch. Are they just bruised or do they have something else?
 And here a close-up:

Jake, I'm having trouble getting cyans from a spore syringe to germinate on agar with 1000ml water, 20g agar, 14g LME. Any tips?

Try switching to dog food agar, or grain water agar!

Most pans should germ on a traditional agar nute profile however whenever I would run into stubborn spores I would use peptone (now I just use it all the time unless I happen to run out) it goes about 4x as far as other sugars like malt or dextrose would go. Knock ur malt down to 8G’s and add 1g of peptone and a small pinch of nutritional yeast. See how that goes

Or there’s always straight to grain and then colonized grain to agar to clean it up.

I'm fairly new to growing, but I have a marthaset up and some pan cyan spores. I'm gonna have a go at this.
Looks like I gotta make just a few changes to my marth set up and it will be good to go.
Can you grow cubes and pans in the same set up?

You can cubes will grow in just about any conditions so long as it’s not freezing or above myco death temps, however cubes actually preform better with less air movement than pans. You really can’t beat a mono tub for cubes unless your trying to go mass production or something

When talking about contamination prone as being the downside of Pans is the major contaminates just green molds? I use Senator 50 SC (t methyl) as a casing drench to great effect with my cubes and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using it on pans? Is the myc too sensitive to take the hit?

Yeah trich is still you most common then also a yellow mold appears quite often but it doesn’t really stop the tray from flushing and it usually stays below the surface. You can try but pans are pretty touchy

Yeah that's my worry is the myc might be too weak, will have to try it out. I got some Q's in the Cult general thread if you wanna take a peek at those as well.

This is what I decided to do thanks AKA.
I soaked grass seed for 24hrs and used that water for a normal agar recipe and inoculated 5 plates with syringe. I also prepped 2x 1qt jars and 1x .5pint jars of WBS. Inoculated 1 quart and the .5pint and left the other one as a control jar to watch for contamination from prep/PC cycle. Those were done last night. I'll post updates if I see anything.

Might be a stupid ? But I’m unsure of what hand watering means when it comes to the cyans? You said you can’t mist so how do you hand water? Do you inject water into the cake?

Having a little 75 % Millet/25% Rye issue here. I am leaving the lids of my 1 quart jars slightly loose, but I do have a modified lid - so I am not sure that the lid needs to be loose at all. I loosen the lid cause of air pressure, but I think the syringe filters can deal with the pressure if the lid is tightened. I got real stinky results - it was somewhere between a locker room and a bag of assholes the second I took the pressure cooker lid off. The millet turned white and almost like 'prune skin' where it was in the water too long. You can see this in the photos, as well as my lids and the brands I used of Millet and Rye. I threw the Millet bag away, but it was the same brand.
Was kinda worth it as the wife almost got sick when I asked her to stick her head in the pressure cooker and get a big whiff.
Is this smell\look correct? Do I need to tighten the jars the next go? Thanks for any help.

Over in asuras thread they said that the misting causes aborts is slightly outdated info, but that they still like to hand water.
As far as I understand it you literally get a syringe full of water and use that to squirt it onto the casing around the pins. That way you can rehydrate the casing without getting the pins too wet.
