Maybe I was thinking of your tamps.... I have 3 tamps growing and 2 pans.... I was wondering also if tamps can be done easy with lc? Also I heard it's not good to grow them in bags for the stones.... Jars only?

Sorry if this question was already asked but I couldn't find the answer. I've pasteurized the substrate 5 days ago in oven bags with the end tightly knotted and they've been sitting that way since then. I didn't open them yet. Now I am wondering, did I do well letting them sit closed without loosening the knot? Is it possible that there's now some anaerobic contam going on there?

I’ve wondered the same. They sell pasteurized manure online in mycobags but they roll it up tight and it’s sealed so I figure that if it’s pastuerized Good enough there should be a problem. I usually keep mine in a ziplock bag shut and rolled up and it’s usually fine.

Should be fine for a week or so I pasteurize mine in jumbo ziplocks and leave them sealed for a week or so

Thanks for the answer guys! So, once it's been pasteurized, can it sit indefinitely without opening it? Or should I repasteurize it past certain time in spite of being airtight?

No not indefinitely. There’s definitely a shelf life not sure what that would be a week maybe two. Best to freeze it after a couple days.

One more question here! Do we have to let the casing recover for 5 days also after pasteurizing or that's just with the substrate?

If you mean the microbe build that’s just with the substrate but it probably wouldn’t be a horrible idea with the casing either. And it doesn’t have to be 5 days but from what I’ve heard the longer the better.

Thanks CE Then next time I'll pasteurize both simultaneously, freeze the casing at day 5 mark and thaw it when needed

Guys! As I don't have the possibility to build a martha I've been experimenting and all of my trays literally stalled, most of them without even throwing pins. So I thought changing the setup and, as I yet don't have the possiblity to have a martha or GH, the best I could think of was the next buildup:

They are both 20q tubs pasty style (with a couple holes on all four sides) with an aquarium heater set on each one at 82F. And also an air pump. I was wondering, would it be overkill if the air pump runs all day long? It just has the basic on-off setting. Any suggestions on this setup?

How were you fruiting them when they stalled out of interest?

Hey coversall! I fruited them at the tent of plastic bags of my other post you were following also haha. Remember this pic?
I don't have anything in my house that could both up the FAE and provide humidity for that tent.. so I'm trying out this ghetto system of heater and air pump now in a tub. Crossing fingers!

Oh yeah! My brain is a bit fried, had a deadline this weekend so haven't had much sleep. Sorry to hear they stalled out! Have you seen the low tech fruiting chmambers that pasty, and MacMerdin used? Might be worth a shot and doesn't require much investment.

I’ve got some noob questions I haven’t been able to find an answer for. Jake mentioned that if you’ve got stubborn spores or your growth is stalling you could use this agar recipe:
1000ml distilled water (1000g) 32g dextrose (sugar) 16 g malt extract 16 g peptone 8g yeast 20 g agar 10 g potato starch
(Optional below) .3 g ammonium citrate .2 g thiamine .2g magnesium phosphate
How is this superior to a simple mea, mya, etc. recipe? Is this recipe just more dialed in for the nutritional needs of pans?

I'm sure it must spice up performance or something. If Jake suggests it, I'm sure he has his good reason. Anyways, if you can't get all those ingredients as me just give dog food agar a try. That recipe never failed me. Always worked for me with every specie. These were the results with my Pans cyan around 7-9 days from transfer
