It’s also a pana cyan strain apparently

So at Home Depot they sell these large plastic trays meant for water tanks they fit a greenhouse in it perfectly then I use some paint stir sticks and duct tape  to build a sort of frame to keep the fan about 8 inches off the ground

Pan haustrailian venom =phv but they do have pretty hardcore visuals lol

Hey man I was wondering I completely understand the whole tent but the tubs I’m a little lost on. So I understand it’s the same idea though the only thing is how do you run the fan cycle. It looks like it’s hooked up to a tube that runs in the same hole  as the fog tube but do you have the fan tub sucking dry air through the filters and if so how does that work with the fogger. I guess you would run the fogger for 2 or three mins and then cut off and run the fan for 1 min or so?

This is the reason I asked the previous question. So here’s where I’m at. I’m still not completely sure how your tub system operates but it looks like maybe there was an air pump possibly hooked up to the water jug where the fogger connects and maybe the air and fog was forced through there but then what is the small hose. So my plan is this:
6in pc fan installed on the back side of the tub there where I drew a square with the small hole it will be facing out to suck in the air through the filters. I’ll have the fogger coming in through the other side and they will be on alternating seperate loops. So fogger cuts fan kicks on both off for 20 or 30 mins depending on evap and then restart cycle. Does this sound right? I’m only doing the one run for now but if it works out I’ll do another just like it. Also I see in some of your pics on mycotopia it looks like you weren’t doing bulk sometimes you had a bottom layer of perlite and two tray bins. That’s what I’ll do I think so I can at least run two species at once.

Yeah that sounds like it could work the jugs acted as expansion chambers and I use them to pre-hydrate the fresh air coming in even on the dry cycle if I brought air directly in I found that I would fry a lot of my fruits so I had my fogger feed directly in for the wet cycle then a fogger And a oxygen condenser through an expansion tub into the tote however you could probably just use some sort of air pump as I don’t think the air condenser made much of a difference. The whole trick with the tub is to try and get that maximized evaporation across the entire tub without creating hotspots I did eventually dial it in but it quickly provided way more fruit than I needed and I like the ability to grow a large variety

Well I can’t really tel how much I’m sucking through the filters but a very strong wind is coming from the fan much stronger than I had with the tent and the whole tub hums when it’s on. So I think I’ll put perlite in the bottom and use two tray totes I also made the filters a little too high which will make doing that better anyways so I guess the only thing left to do now is fail or fly.

Do you want the surface beads to have evaporated somewhat by the time the fogger kicks on again? There’s pretty much beads on the surface all the time in this tote I made.

You don’t want water pooling but glistening is fine

Awesome write up Jake!!! great tek!! The timers seem to be a little tricky to sync but but i'm getting it there. Im using a different humidifier than I pictured that has a single disc in the bottom with a fan top feeding into 3x3gt with a bathroom fan on the bottom and polyfill in the other opening for fae. Has anyone ever seen these humidifiers? Is this safe to use with pans? it pumps it out nicely since it just spins breaks the droplets down on the teeth,  i bet dropping a fogger disc in tandem with this would be sweet!!

I’m getting a lot of cracked caps and the fruits are turning blue. Thought maybe the fan cycle was what’s doing it so I adjusted for more humidity. Think the damage is already done though

I would imagine it works but I’ve never seen one like that, does it create a fog or just fling water droplets?

Yeah you got a lil more fine tuning sounds like. Shorten your dry cycle a little bit. It takes a lil practice but once you get a feel for the fruits happy spot things get much easier

Do you usually have to shorten the dry cycle once pinning has been initiated or when the fruits have gotten to a certain size. Just asking because I saw a couple
Grows of yours where you had the same problem also I like to have several trays in the tub all in different time lines. Also bacterial blotching seems to be a consistent problem of mine.

I am just trying to get started and have a question. I got a Pan syringe and inoculated straight to substrate about a week ago.  Sub was the recipe from the top of this post.  No signs of germination yet. My question is, did I screw this up?  Do you have to go to rye or agar first? Will germination happen going straight to sub like this?  Thanks in advance for your time.

Yeah so taking a me syringe directly to bulk is most likely not going to work, it’s not completely impossible but highly unlikely, you want to make grain spawn or liquid culture first then use that to inoculate your bulk

What do you mean? The dehydrator? Dry them fast, they don’t take long but it’s best to Keep an eye on them and get them vacuum sealed as soon as they are dry leaving them in an overnight and them getting several extra hours of hot air will degrade potency

Wow this is about as far off from what I do as one can get.  It's amazingly complicated compared to what I do, but the results look great!  It just goes to show you can grow mushrooms in a lot of ways.

Isn’t the main difference you prefer to hit sterile bags with LC? And I’m guessing you run a traditional Martha?
I’m actually about to try a few different LC methods. I just hit a few grain jars to test the few different LC’s I made if they kick off clean I’ll also tray some LC 2 sterile bulk 2 pasteurized bulk and maybe run 1 straight sterile but the sterile trays have been completely non resistant to contam the last few runs I did with them and They started to turn at the end of the first flush, But my contamination rate has been zero since I rebuilt my hood so perhaps all my issues of late were stemming from that. I’ve now gone back to MS again with everything and things are going smoothly with grain to pasteurized bulk again now here are some pan bisp and pan cyan FL that just came up/are coming up for me, These are all MS so nothing super impressive yet but I’ll go through and grab my clones for everything I’m gonna run and hopefully I’ll have some canopies again in a few weeks
