Why are this mushrooms so fuzzy ?

Half of the box looks normal / half looks like this

Any idea why ? They grow on just hay

They should be getting cause since i mixed some grains with the hay , I didn t change any of the micropore tape or add more , it has on all sides just one layer

Not sure whats going on but it looks like there aborting. Probably not enough FAE and maybe too wet of substrate. Definitely post pics of your setup

I've never used hay before so I'm not sure. Maybe if you use polyfill instead of tape it will get more air. You wouldn't think it would get much air with micropore tape over the holes. What happend to the lid lol?

Putting the lid on should help your FAE from what I have read on here.

Dude I would put the lid on and replace the tape with polyfill. Put the tape up to your mouth and try to breath through it. You'll see that its extremely difficult for the air to pass through. I'm no expert but if it was me I would get the lid and polyfill. Are you misting and fanning? The reason I'm asking is because I see no water on the sides of your container. Hope things work out..

Micropore tape is pretty easy to breath through, iv seen people use athletic tape thinking it’s the same thing but you can’t breath through that shit.

Found out that the receipe doesn’t need fanning and misting till 2nd or 3rd flush

I've been misting and fanning mine 🤷‍♂️. I really like these shoeboxes! I should have used a liner but o well, you live and learn lol. Hopefully we both get lots of mushrooms!

Misting and fanning doesn't cause pinning. Full colonization does. (fanning is pointless)
Your culture is very bruised on the surface and that usually happens in dry conditions.
Also your tub looks very dry itself so this could be why your fruits look stumped.
I'd give it a good mist and place the lid on upside down and see if the conditions improve. Gl
