Forgot my house key, locked out for a while. * 1

I was having car trouble and borrowed my moms car to drive to work today. She works at a dealership and I left it overnight for service. I thought the alternator went bad but it was one of my keys that had lost programming and wouldn't start my car, which freaked me out.

Long story short, I exchange my car with moms and forgot my house key on her spare key ring.

She lives like 2 miles from me so she is stopping on her way home from work to let me in.

Good thing I gots me some wifi and some cannabis, otherwise I might be taking a nap or something.

when I was in highschool id forget my key all the time, I spent a lot of time sitting in front of my door, but it was apartments so at least it was warm

I was thinking about it not too long ago. My dad is coming into town and I may be at work when he gets here, so there will need to be a spare around here somewhere.

are any windows unlocked? in highschool went to concert with friends got home late and was locked out....it was 2 story house....dead of winter...mom heavy sleeper.....only unlocked window was small bathroom window up top....one of worst fml moments lol

I've had to break into my house a few times after getting locked out. Usually managed to find an open window, still always feel super shady climbing in through my own window :lol:

One time a friend got locked out of his place and broke his bedroom window to get inside :rofldrunk:

Always kind of wanted to learn how to lockpick for worst case scenarios. Seems like a good skill to know if you ever get locked out in a serious situation :strokebeard: Or locked in for whatever reason.

I'm in now, mom came by about an hour ago and let me in.

No windows were unlocked, I keep them that way.

Time to get a spare key.

back when my mom was an alcoholic her friend was locked out of her apartment, the friends kids are crying and my moms not having it. So she tries to climb to the second story of the apartment complex to get in the balcony door.

She was drunk and not in good shape so she took a tumble and fucked up her shoulder :lol:

We have a punch code lock at my place. Pretty great.

Though between that and a gate that is also punch code, I have an ex that knows she can get in my home when she’s not invited. Less great.


Edit: There are also mechanical locks that can be placed on door handles, and can hold a key.
Maybe not the best to look at, but yeah.

I've never locked my house.

If someone came out here with the intent to steal stuff they could just raid my shed or jimmy a window anyway, no one would hear or see them. Doesn't seem like much point.

Old doggo mate would be a pain for unwelcome guests though. He's a good doggo.

I know a girl, she’s kind of a dumbass.  Locked herself out of her place, broke in via a window.  Someone saw, probably not a neighbor because they didn’t recognize her, and called the police to report a B & E in progress.  Cops show up, and they tell her they believe her story, but they still insist on doing a walkthrough of the home- I guess to make sure she wasn’t telling them she was fine under duress or whatever.  Anyway, this girl was the sort of genius to leave bongs, pipes, other weed paraphernalia just sitting out on the coffee table (in an illegal state with notoriously dickish cops).  Instantly arrested and spent over a year going through the legal wringer of trying to get her kid back, which she eventually did.

Moral of the story: always leave your house in such a way that if a cop has to come in, you’re not gonna be in trouble.
