Glyphosate might not be the end all be all but im glad we have to use less of it to get the same results as older more harmful pesticides. I'm all for brilliant scientists making advancement. But hey fuck them because they can't make a miracle pesticide so they shouldn't even bother trying to keep the world fed. Oh by the way we're the most healthy humans have ever been. But everything is killing us

Eh not necessarily true.

As far as overall health care, sure; But anthropology has
shown that humans had a more nutritious diet, with less grain, and had long life expectancies
contrary to popular myth. Their dental health has been shown to be pretty
decent as well since their diet wasnt infused with sugar.

The whole myth of how much better life is under capitalism, communism, monarchy, etc.
vs. just living in nature as nature intended is a lie told to keep us all
complacent. And it works. I like modern ammenities but I have to work
half my waking life to attain them, where as ancient man built a home
and only worked to maintain it and gathered food from nature when hungry.

They just want you to thank your government for saving you from living
free in exchange for working 40+ hrs a week. Be a slave to society then
thank them for the pleasure.

Not to mentian societal role in all modern day diseases and ailments.
People crowding together, drinking shit water which totally killed all
of our immune systems today which is why we cant easily drink natural
water anymore, or "live water". Tons of other examples. I can provide
links to peer reviewed articles but it's pretty easy to google.

The earth provides for every being that it can sustain. The only thing agriculture
has done is support a population too big for the earth to sustain naturally
while making the situation worse every day.

People will say "but agriculture was necessary to feed a starving population!" but that isn't true. The last thing a starving population
does is plant a crop that takes 6+ months to harvest. Ancient man knew there was
strength in numbers and that's why they tilled the earth. And now here we are
reaping what they sowed.

Again though i like modern advancements also and they say that modern
society is directly attributed to the advancement of agricultural practice
but I disagree. It would have happened anyway, albeit a little bit slower.

agriculture allowed people to specialize. prior to the ag revolution, pretty much everyone needed to contribute to food procurement. without it, humanity could never have created the bicycle.

whether we are better or worse off for it, i'll leave for other people to debate. but such technological advancement pretty much required the industrial revolution, which itself required the agricultural one. in truth, it's debatable whether we'd have figured out steel without farming.

feel free to disagree.

Firmly disagree. The iron age could easily have happened regardless of agriculture.

Any archeology professor or anthropologist will likely tell you the same thing.
The idea of nomadic hunter gatherer societal structures are also
an archaic belief.

The point I am making here is that food procurement wasnt as difficult as
you are made to believe. As said, the earth provides for what it can sustain.
Agriculture allowed us to build populations at alarming rates which helped
push civilization faster than it should have. We are still a horribly immature
species. But to say we never would have made advancements without it is
just wrong. Hell some civilizations are still in the dark ages even though
they've been tilling the earth for centuries.

Also societal advancement was simply one point of my argument which is that
we are not necessarily the healthiest we've been. What about mental health?
I'd say we are worse than ever in that department.

I'd love to talk about it more cause it's a topic that interests me a lot.
Archeological and anthropological record have shown lots of things that are
contrary to what we've been taught since the 50s about prehistoric life.

Mushrooms are cool

Everything we've been taught since the 50s is wrong.

Mushrooms are cool. I remember my parents telling me all mushrooms were poisonous. And edible ones were cooked to kill toxins.

Both my parents have numerous master degrees too.

I heard somewhere that fungi is more biological-related to animals than plants. Anyone heard that before?

Fungi and us share a more recent common ancestor than plants and us (plants diverged before fungi and animals). I'd say plants went down a very different path in the beginning of life due to the evolution of chloroplasts and being able to obtain energy from the sun. Fungi and us specialized into different feeding methods later on.

Also we are relatively similar to fungi metabolically as shown by the difficult of fighting fungal infections (excluding external ones ie. yeast infections and athlete's foot). It's difficult to compare that similarity to plants though because they don't typically infect humans.

Plants came quite a bit after fungi. Fungi was at least 1500mya plants were much later. Fungi dominated land before even simple aquatic plants were starting to evolve

edit: I just looked it up and there was giant fungi before trees and shrubs. 26 feet tall and 3 feet wide!

Inoculated some grain jars with PR variety cubes tonight. Kinda flubbed it and injected the spores into the middle. Guess I’ll have to wait a little longer to visualize the growth. There was also one chunk of spore that wouldn’t break up no matter what I did, so I think that jar will be happy, seeing how it got a whole chunk hah

As it gets into spring with a lot higher humidity (southeast US), is it necessary to increase FAE to get good evaporation for pinsets?  In the winter everything dried out fast.

I have some clones that I'm trying out and am not that impressed with what's happening.  Could just be the culture though.
