Question about Website

Hey all if anyone could help me out with some quick advice that would be great! I know a few of you around here are read on websites and I'm looking to make an online store for myself. Is there any direction you could give me as far as hosting and the like.. anything else you might be able to add is welcome!
I've been looking at bluehost and woocommerce, wordpress. The only reason I haven't moved forward at this point is the conflicting views about bluehost I've seen around the net. Obviously they could originate from morons, people upset with the service or competitors.. if anyone has had experience hosting with them let me know as well! Checked out Comodo SSL too.

This thread was moved from Website Announcements and Feature Feedback.
Reason: I'm moving this to a more relevant forum so you'll get some better responses.
If you just want an online store, WooCommerce is a popular, easy, straightforward option. If you require your own server, there are a lot of different choices. Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. are okay if your needs are basic and you want easy setup and maintenance (ie. cPanel included). There are also options like https://www.kimsufi.com/ which give you more for your money hardware-wise, but they also require more expertise to setup and administer. I think in order to get a good recommendation, you'll need to explain your requirements in a little more detail. Good luck!

Thanks for the help Ythan. I'm not sure what all details I should provide as I'm extremely new to webpage creation but I'll give it a go here. Basically I'm just trying to make up a website with links to other pages of that website that includes informational articles / whatever else and the website will include a store where I sell my own goods. I've got a pretty basic understanding of it all so I'm leaning more toward the former in the suggestion above so far, I appreciate it!
Bluehost offered siteguard and some other privacy / security measures but siteguard looked like poop from what I seen around the net. If I get a basic SSL certificate from somewhere is that enough for the security of my webpage? Starting out as a store front with little to no traffic do you have any recommended SSL services? With a low traffic store I should be fine with just the basic domain SSL right?
Update - I used LetsEncrypt.
