sad day

This was my third run of mini tubs. The first 2 came out ok.
I just lost all three tubs to green mold about 8-10 days into colonization.
ratio was 1:1.5 spawn to verm/core.
What I did different.
* no lining in the tubs *didn't colonize in the dark *only had one layer of micro pore tape over the holes. *I pre soaked the spawn before mixing into tubs with sub.
The temp was similar to the other tubs if anything a bit cooler.
I noticed from day one a massive amount of water coating the roof heavy drops and running down the walls. Could this be because I pre soaked the spawn? mmm
... I'm a fool, i didn't notice that the season change caused the midday sun to shine directly onto my tubs for hours and over 2-3 days before I noticed. Moved them, seven days later green mold everywhere.
Was is the direct sun in the early days of colonization?
Thanks for listening.

How did you get things started? MS to grain? Agar?
Before I started using agar I had similar problems pretty regularly. Get your spawn cleaned up and your problems will likely go away.

Apparently contams can go unnoticed and then bloom during fruiting.

That's for sure. A little fresh air always gets it to show it's ugly green face!
Agar is not a step you want to skip...unless you don't mind cultivating mold. I prefer shrooms.

wild print to agar, transfer about 5 times to get clean (RR vids) then onto grain. All was going well I thought grain to grain+master each time to keep the strain going. I still have the grain going now, I really hope it's not in the current grain masters. I'm kinda freak'n a bit.
I gave to much away me thinks, getting nervous

Contaminates come from dirty spawn, sorry buddy.
5 transfers from wild with not much experience under your belt means it's probably still contaminated.
Keep doing transfers and work on your sterile technique, you'll get it.

It also sounds to me like the water was over field capacity. The red flag for me is you pre-soaking the spawn. I am not an experienced grower like many on here so I could be wrong. I do also agree with Mr.Piggy about your spawn probably having contams.
Sorry for your loss!

It will get better the more you practice man, when i first started doing this I got so bummed about a tub turning green, then i learned proper agar tek, how to use a sab, and G2G, and finally i have jars on rotation. Now if i see contam i just shrug dump it into the earth and start a new tub/shoebox.

Don't soak spawn if done it a few times its a bad idea Most probably your spawn like MushBoy said Or It could be the pooling water

well yep, still sad days haha There is green shit all over it the tub in the pic. I tossed em days ago.
I have 12 jars of the same spawn at full colonization. I don't want to put it all to tubs if it's contaminated grain.
Can I keep 9 of the 12 jars in the fridge and just do one tub with the remaining 3 grain jars?
Thanks

Anyway, things have gotta be on the up from here... Trich and a sour smell has been everywhere, so jars have been cleaned and grains tossed.
Since before things went to green shit, another thing I noticed I had changed was, where I buy my rye grain, they both look the same. And I always sterilize at 15psi for 90min.
*could changing rye grain be a problem? sterilizing should sterilize right into the grain right?

Bump it up to 2 hours. I found that when I did that my contam rate went way down.
Could be I got better at SAB and agar work too. Probably both.

The picture is a little too blurry to see detail but yeah it doesn't look too bad.
