Just shifted to the West Coast from Wellington (shroom capital as well as the actual capital) and was wondering if any other shroomers down here have had success finding Weraroas in the bush down here, or if they even grow here at all!

Weather in Auckland is looking good the next few days, bit of rain today and southerlies incoming this week with more rain. Could be an early start

I tried some mushrooms in Thailand last year and had a real pleasant experience, much different than I thought it would feel, I spent the year researching where they grow and what I should be looking for so this year I'm going to go out and try my luck, anyone have any good tips for a welly beginner?

I'm going out looking tomorrow in Auckland. Only tried a tiny dose of old, powdered mushrooms back in Canada ten years ago, didn't do much. Keen to have a proper try.

Weather in Wellington region is cooling down substantially, there are a lot of non-actives sticking their heads up but haven't seen any actives yet.

I've noticed a bunch of different species of non actives popping up around Auckland, even a few growing on some rotting wood. Really hope this season is decent, definitely starting too look that way!

1 and 6 look interesting actually. I don't know much about New Zealand mushrooms, but those closely resemble Gymnopilus purpuratus. Do you still have them, and could you take a spore print?
