Canberra/Brindabellas ID request

Hey guys,
With all this rain I decided to go for a drive up the Brindabellas and see what was around. Found these. Can anyone ID for me?

Habitat:
Where does it grow?
Eucalyptus forrest, growing in grass and leafy foliage around/under large dead branches.

Gills:
Creamish colour

Stem:
Length: 3-5cm, diameter: 4-5mm, color: white/cream, solid, splintered abit.

Cap:
Diameter: 2cm, color: Caramel


Bruising:
Blueish bruising on gills and slight blueish bruising on stems.

Found one little fellow in similar substrate and looking for a positive ID.

Strong bruising on the base unfortunately due to rough handling, very similar in size and description to your pictures, in fact almost identical. photos attached.

Now the real question is to do with this little solitary guy, spore print and an attempt to grow seems like an obvious choice, although subs are apparently notoriously hard for that.

At least this confirms i know what i'm looking for next time, seasons only just starting.

I believe you can use the spore print to start outdoor patches in woodchips, from what I've heard it works well and it's just leave-alone for the most part.

I think there might also be some way to use the butt of the stem to start a running mycelium culture.

Someone else will be able to better explain, I'm not well-versed in woodlover growing techniques

Take the spore print and gear your grow toward an outdoor bed at home or close to it. It's fruiting indoors that's the problem.

Hey all, watching this thread with interest especially since it has been rainy most of the afternoon. I’m heading out for a forage in the morning and being optimitic I am wondering about transporting the goods. What do you all use to carry fresh mushrooms? I was thinking a Tupperware container with some paper towel layers?

Damn I went out to the brindies yesterday arvo before the storm and found mushrooms that looked almost identical to subs but weren't bruising blue :frown:
Gone out a few times since the start of the season and have found about 16 different types of mushroom but no subs. After last nights much needed rain and colder weather ive got a but more confidence to search the burbs

Saturday and Sunday look like they're shaping up to be great days for hunting. 1c over night and 17-20 in the day. Grounds still moist too.

Went for a little hunt last weekend around the Uriarra Forest area and unfortunately came up with nothing other than a few close look a likes to subs and lots of non active mushrooms. Im pretty new to Canberra so not sure if that was the best location to be looking in the first place but it seemed to have potential. If anyone has better suggestions on rough areas to look would be much appreciated! Also curious if anyone has ever found P. Cubensis around the Canberra area or is the humidity not high enough?
