The Food your area is known for?
    #2590434 - 04/22/04 11:43 AM (13 years, 8 days ago)

I live in Milwaukee wisconsin, and its a toss-up here. OF course, Beer. Theres breweries all over town. But they're big on brats here too, although I fucking hate them...

Anyway...What do they make in your town/state/province/country better than anyplace else in the world?

Hmmm... well, the BBQ is pretty good. Biscuits are quite nice as well. Deep south here in case you're wondering.

i am a major fan of the poutine...but i think ottawa has montreal beat.  the elgin street diner = best poutine on earth.

anyways.  im from near rochester NY, our claim to fame is the trash plate (AKA garbage plate).  for those of you whose arteries are fortunate enough to not have met a trash plate before, its home frie style potatoes, with mac salad, then you put 2 cheeseburgers without the bun on top of the pile of potatoe/mac sald mix, and then drench the whole thing with a thick meat sauce (kinda like sloppy joe mix sorta kinda but less tomatoey), hot sauce, onions, ketchup, mustard, anything you can think of really.  with a peice of white bread on the side.  you can get it with hotdogs too.  its basically a pile of food that ends up being slop, but it is so good, and if you can finish one, you are the champion of earth (like me )

yes people eat these...frequently.

here is a good link http://www.geocities.com/garbageplates/
but these guys are pussies and they keep the piles of naste semi seperated, the place i go smashes it all into a bowl so you can only see the top layer...its great

Sourdough Bread. Chili or Clan Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl..

Beef stew in a good bread bowl is enough to make me cum...

Here in LA? Smog samiches are nice... Sushi I guess.

A poutine always use cheese!!!!

As for your messy plate personnally i couldnt handle that, mac and fries dont mix imo.

The best thing in a poutine is the fresness of the cheese.
Sometimes I just go out and buy some fresh cheese and poutine gravy and have myself a frieless poutine. Its

Utah is known for mass consumption of green Jell-o, also fry sauce (a tasty ketchup/mayo/secret ingredient mix).

Anything fried. As long as it's greasy as fuck it's fine. We even used to sell deep-fried Mars bars from our chip shops until they got banned by health officials.
