Plain, old school hot green tea.

Now I want sushi.

I wish I could drink more tea, but even the less-tannic teas give me nausea that is strong enough to put me off of it most of the time.  This is ironic given that my wife spends more time combing through teas from Harney and Sons and Republic of  Tea than she does breathing air.  My one joy in this respect is a lemongrass-infused green tea that she cold-brews for me.  It's pretty amazing.  Every once in a while I'll have a cup of two of Kobuk tea (generally during the holiday season).  I just finished drying/curing my batch of labrador tea (herbal/wild) that I picked a couple months ago.  Might just have a nice cup of that now..

Maybe you're already aware of this, but your nausea could possibly be caused by brewing your tea leaves too long. I found this one day after doing a very extended brew of some green tea and felt sick after drinking...but since you mention tannins, you probably already know that since longer brew times result in more tannins, which cause the nausea

Absolutely.  Unfortunately, for me to enjoy most of the tea I favor involves brewing to a depth that doesn't agree with my gut.  No clue why I'm soooo sensitive about tannins from tea specifically.  When I dtink a cup or two during the holidays, I do so after heavy feasting, and very slowly.  I almost never totally finish a cup.  So jealous of people who can.  A couple days ago, the wife had me smell this tea she's been on a kick with lately that is aged in old oak whiskey barrels and I almost threw the kettle at her I wanted it so bad.

Got some kombucha brewing.

First run with half white tea, half black tea.

The few people I let try say they like it, but I'm not sure if they're just saying that to make me feel good.

I like it, yummy.

I haven't had a chance to get into kombucha yet, but I've been very interested

I've tried it a couple times and it was a little weird, but that was only twice and I'd love to have more. I'm more interested in health benefits than the taste

if you have a maple tree, tap it in the spring when the nighttime temperature is below freezing asnd the daytime temperature  is above freezing and collect the sap

pour sap into 1 litre mason jars and add 2 teabags (I used green tea) and leave in the fridge for 24 hours

the end result from 1 tree is more ice tea then you could drink in a day and its on par with store bought stuff, plus it probably has tree nutrients and minerals

ive only tried green tea, and it tasted like normal ice tea, I assume black tea bags would work too, maybe even better, but im unsure

always been a coffee drinker myself. Bit of a caffeine slave.

I'm from texas, so the only tea I've ever really been exposed to is iced sweet tea.
I can handle a little bit of sugar, but some of these fat fucks make it so sweet you might as well be chewing on a fucking sugar cane. If I'm in the mood for some tea, it's always unsweet.

I've had green tea a few times when I was younger but it didn't really appeal to me all that much. Probably cheap stuff as it seemed watered down.

HOWEVER, theres a plant that grows here naturally called Yaupon Holly. It produces caffeine and has a wonderfully herbal flavor. I strip the leaves off the branches of a few plants, and roast them in the oven until they have a deep green/golden color. I throw A handful in a mug and and cover in hot water, the leaves all settle out. Not as strong as coffee, but definitely stronger than teas from the store. Seems more mellow to me.  Highly recommend if you have access to it. Plus it's free.

Yaupon Holly sounds cool, I've never had any

Check out Yerba Mate if you're looking for strong caffeine tea. Its as high in caffeine as coffee, sometimes higher.

You can usually find it a bit cheaper in Latin markets, if you have any nearby
