Is my monotub contaminated?

I noticed a few greyish blue spots and some beads of what looks like metabolites. Is it f*****? :frown:

Looks like pan myc? If that's cubes then your tub has some weird funk going on ...


If its pan mine had done that and I think I was told to recase it

It's just rye spawn and straight coir, roughly 50/50 ratio, Bod's easy AF bucket tek. I don't have pics of spawn at full colonisation, but they looked clean. These are the only pics I have.

That grain is way too wet which lead to bacteria how did you noc the jars uo?? Spores or agar ??

MS to agar, agar to agar, then wedge of agar straight into sterilised grain jars using a SAB.

Hmmm only thing I can think of is your grain was wet and your agar was hiding nasties... do you have pics of your agar ???

When I did my grain, they didn’t look too wet, and they passed the tissue paper test, but I did notice a lot of condensation towards the end of colonisation, which is perhaps what you’re looking at. Here’s my agar.

I would do a transfer and do a hot pour on that your myc looks off and that's where I think the contam is coming from... or start new spores man

Looks like the funk on your tub ... a hot pour is where you pour the agar still hot over the contaminated myc and let the myc grow through and take a little off the top to a new plate ...

Yeah it helps the healthy myc out run the contaminates... it will help kill bacteria that sensitive to heat and if mold is on there will make it harder for it to follow the myc before a transfer

Looking at how thick and white that is I'm sure ur spawn was pretty bacterial when u spawned it. Its not supposed to be that consistency. U might get some mushies outta it but I really don't know bc u have some thick over lay going on. If u haven't already I would start a new project :frown: sorry bro
