1200 hundred seems a little steep..how much are you getting the cpu for?

I'd suggest getting a GeForce DDR with 64 megs of RAM instead of that rather old Voodoo. Or get a Voodoo 4-4500 or somesuch.

the processor is costing me about $510 (canadian) or $350 americian, yes its canadian doller, and if I were to get any kind of video card other than the Voodoo 3 3500 I would get a Voodoo 5 6000, or maby the new GE-Force but right now there too expensive for me!

the 64mb geforce doesn't really offer any startling advantages over the 32mb ddr. www.firingsquad.com had a comparison of the two.

Just buy a Silicon Graphics O2 workstation!

But of course a fast Pentium 3 (especially the new coppermine series) will do the job, with a Diamond Ge-Force 2 ultra and 256 megs p100 RAM.
You can buy a combi card with radio/tv/video(capture)/DVD. I believe ATI has one.
Also a U-DMA 2 harddisk is very nice.
And if you want a new 19" monitor, buy the IIyama Vision Master pro450! (diamondtron!)
I'm very happy with that one!
