You've been asked to support your claims of opinion and you will not, or cannot.

Those stats show that less than 50% of people buy a gun for protection. The one thing that I thought you weren't wrong about, and you go ahead and prove yourself wrong lol. How did you even manage that

Funny how you think one thing then someone can show you something different.

61percent in favour of tighter controls...cause I know you wont click the learning.

The first step is admission of the problem.

The Second is saying that the problem is not insurmountable.

When you get to that stage we can chat about  solutions.
Until then this is a massive waste of all our time...though enjoyable nonetheless....I'm out till next time.

@ballsalsa if you really want me to dig through for graphs I'll PM you, though I wont hold my breath for the request.

No one is arguing that a gun ban will end gun crime. The intent is to reduce it.

:cookiemonster:

Yep, simply that. No graph required to point out the obvious.

Which brings the obvious next question:  Is stripping 300 million people of a fundamental right a fair trade for simply a reduction?

Just to respond to your question Enlil.
I don't see that as the next step? There's a long way between reducing the number of firearms and stripping 300 million of their rights.

I'm not saying anyone should do this or that, that's none of my business.

Hand gun crime does seem to be a growing problem in Sydney/Melbourne.

You could buy $20 grand worth of pot in most of Aus without seeing a gun.
If you were buying $20 grand worth of whizz in Syd/Melb you'd be seeing hand guns.

It seems the crims mostly shoot each other though.

I skipped the last 7 pages, but how will people in New Zealand be able to hunt deer without semiautomatic rifles?

Cool your jets there, brah.  It seems like you think all Americans are running around armed to the teeth.  Would it surprise you to know that i don't own a firearm?  Never carried one on the street or to a bar.  Most people don't.  It generally isn't necessary.  Somehow, almost all of us manage to go our whole lives without being shot or shooting anyone.

Your words not mine.

The fact is that gun crime over there is outrageously high compared with comparable countries.

Above statement wrong?

That's because of US gang violence.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gangs_in_the_United_States

"gangs are responsible for an average of 48% of violent crime in most jurisdictions, and up to 90% in other jurisdictions...Hispanics accounted for 47% of all U.S. gang members, African Americans 34%"

Ummmm, not hunt in their Ugg Boots and aim better?

Edit. I'd be surprised if this gun wasn't still available after the new laws come in.

Why do you think minorities make up a vast majority of gang members? Try to answer this without using the word ‘culture.’

Many come from broken homes and need a substitution for the family unit.

Many do, sure. Do you think there’s an underlying socioeconomic cause to these disadvantages?

One hour left before bump stocks become illegal. Turn them in or destroy them before it’s too late.

Thanks Obama

Bump stocks bans are a joke.

They can be made easier than bought.

Who the hell wants a bump stock anyway?

Just buy an automatic.
