Fuck it. The gov't can still get your emails and real name if they really want to. No matter what.

Unfortunatly, subersion is right. The only upside is your lawyer gets to argue that the messages were intended to be private communiqueis (sp?) and can't be used against you.

Look at how fast the producers of the mellissa and Iloveyou viruses have been found. I would imagin anyone smart enought to right the code, would be savy enought to make all reasonable attempts to remain private. I wonder how many laws were broken to find these ppl?

The guvmint probably can break the PGP encryption hushmail uses (given the resources they have) but it takes them a lot of time. But why not make it harder for them ? If a LOT of people use good encryption for their emails, attempts of screening them all for certain "trigger"-words would be futile as this would mean ALL these encrypted messages had to be unscrambled and screened and this simply takes too much time
And that "fuck it, they can still get my emails" attitude is EXACTLY what THEY want 'cause it makes work a lot easier for them.

my question is what software does the encryption, software on my machine or software on theres. It could be a java app is downloaded to encrypt on my machine. In that case its good.

Even better, download PGP and use it yourself. Its pretty easy to use.
