yes but the shoebox walls are too high to maximize evap. I like these because the top of tray is only 3 inches (just above ideal height of pan sub) but for cubes the shoeboxes work perfectly. I always liked mono tubs best for cubes tho (other than suspended straw logs)

I used barely for a long time. I really liked it. Im actually surprised a lot more people don't use it! Kinda a cross between hole oats and wheat...
@ Jake - Holy shit that's a good deal on those tubs! Looks like I'm making a trip to home depot! I'm guessing those large tubs were roughly around $3? Do u know long and wide they are?

I am back in the game after some serious fucking life stress. Working on Moby Dick and RW plates
Still want to find a close local rye source. I can use WBS but i really like to use rye
I have always had to pay high shipping costs for rye, but its easy to soak and just works real well.

millet is less than half the cost and i like it just as much as rye. i still cut rye berries in at about 25%. i just like having two grain sources especially with millet. local farmer market co ops will have rye berries. they will order 50 lb bags for you at about $65. no matter where ive lived a place like that has always been my source for berries.

RW pin getting started. Just flipped the lid on this shoebox for some more airflow. Feeling a lot better about these surface conditions compared to my previous grows.
