To fruit or not to fruit
    #25887835 -

Followed the Damien 50/50 Tek for my bulk grow. My problem is that my substrate is taking forever to completely colonize. It has been 16 days since moving to bulk. The temps I'm growing in are in the high 60s(night)/low 70s(day). My question is should I wait longer for the top of my substrate to be completely white and colonized or uncover container, remove tape off holes and move to fruiting stage?

Take forever because you have a low incubation temp, you need al least 79s to a good colonization time. Just be patient and try to increase the temp

I don't think it's bacterial. Temp could definitely be the problem. I set up thermostat and temps are closer to mid 60s . Should I use a space heater, had read that dries the air out and is counterproductive, or just wait longer?

Higher temps don't help that much in your situation.

There can be many things wrong, including bacteria. Or everything might be just fine. Impossible to say with this information, but you will know soon. If no pins or better colonisation in next week or so, I'd say it's pretty much dumpster tek time.

Why do you feel higher temps would help? What additional information would you need to be able to tell?

Its up to u. I (like many others) put my tubs into fruiting conditions on the day that I spawn them :super:

I'd throw it into fruiting. Waiting for the myc to take over the top layer of coir/verm may never happen. The longer you wait the better chances for a contam to rear it ugly head, even though with temps that low I wouldn't be overly worried.
