Smelly Cakes, Hydration Camber
    #25881806 - 03/18/19 12:22 PM (5 years, 11 days ago)

Hi,

So I birthed cakes that have been in the jars a few months extra as I was away. Everything looked and smelt fine. I soaked for 12-16hr then put into a hydration chamber.

After 5-6 days the old sock smell started and now at 8-9 days its very strong. I've cleaned out the chamber - but of course it she cake that smell.

3-4 have a light white fur on the top - but know that this is fine from the last time.

Should they be binned?

P.s all the cakes look healthy - all very white with no bruising

It's bacteria..they probably will still fruit, if you can stand the smell, I had a shoebox that stank, but still got some fruits, although its likely to be a lot less than usual
