Luckily mine is outside... So as long as the electrickery is above the liquidation, should be gravy.

I'm no authority, but the room I built is too big, and the fan too strong for a single disc (ultrasonic).
Smaller room, smaller fan, should be fine.
I'm awaiting 5 discs and a transformer, then the room and fan should work nicely!

And today all the bits came together . . . Much tidier . . .

Initial tests are positive. As this is outdoors and the tests were later afternoon, will have to see how it performs through the heat of the day.
Fingers crossed (and spawn spawning)

Asura said: you can cover the sensor in RTV where the wires come into the sensor (being careful not get any on the important bits of course).
I have ascetic cure RTV. Won't this cause the wiring to rust? Will find some neutral cure . . .
Thanks again Asura for your very helpful tips. This would have been much more painful without your suggestions (and less painful had I asked first - though where is the fun in that).

Yep, thats acetic cure, i guess its hard to see if there is rust on the inside through that stuff! Then again, it is air tight, so no oxygen to 'oxidize' the metal...
I used some (clear) permatex on some lids I made, using screw bands and seals for some ezLC, with the seals upside down. Unfortunately, these seemed impossible to seal against the glass. I pulled tham appart and found both the ring and seal rusting...
Will find some neutralmcure. Doesn't need to be heat resistant.
On another note, the GH dropped to 88% humidity during the hottest part of the day. I'm pretty sure thst this will only be a problem in the middle of summer, which is 9mths away. Plenty of time to secure more disks, and a bigger fan.
Does anyone have any ideas on number of air replacements per hour? Or is that just a horticulture term?

So my logging hygrometers arrived partway through my first attempt.
Apparently I'm operating between 95 & 99% RH
Is this the range I should be in? I am seeing differing opinions yet too early for experimentation...

First trays (ever). P.tamps.

6 days after mixing 2:1 with bucketed cvg.
Should I remove the lids and leave them in full humidity? Is 95-99% too high

So heating. . .
'Don't do it!' I hear you all say. . .
I'm getting temps dropping to 9°C overnight which will continue to fall.
I think I'll use an aquarium heater. Do I heat my humidibucket water or have a separate water container in the the GH?

I think mary fairchilds uses an aquarium heater in a bucket of water on the bottom shelf of her martha. I would be paranoid about heating the water in my humidibucket because I would be afraid of encouraging stuff to grow in there.

Thanks for the feedback.
I was thinking of 20°C so not exactly warm, yet I hear you on the growth front. As this will only need to run for 4 mths of the year, will try a tray in the bottom and keep measuring temps.

So today I made 2 changes. 1. Added aquarium heater to humidibucket set at 20°C 2. Connected the input to the humidibucket to the GH.
This has stabilised RH. I’m hoping that there is still enough FAE. May try to use the manual calibration to lower the temperature to 17°C
Will see what happens to temps over the next few nights.
