Mycelium development concerns

I’m having a few concerns with my jar which I inoculated on the 8th of this month , it’s pretty much got no mycelium growth whereas a jar I incolated on the 7th at my friends house is developing exponentially , my main concern is that it is because I’ve put it ontop of this cistern in my airing cupboard that it may have been too hot and dried it out whereas when I’ve inoculated hard in the past I usually place it BEHIND the cistern , the tank isn’t so hot that I couldn’t place my hand on it but its noticeably warmer making the jar slightly warm too ,sorry if I’m being vague any info will be greatly appreciated, maybe worth noting it’s albino a+ spores and also the picture included is what I believe to be the attempt of mycelium

Even moderate heat from the bottom of jars can cause issues. Even so, I doubt that would have dried a cake out completely in that time. If anything the mix looks a bit wet, but it's hard to tell from a picture.

Albino strains can take a little longer to germinate IME. The mycelium should appear where you inoculated, that's why it's typically suggested to do so toward the glass.

My advice, be patient, keep it at room temp

I was under the impression that keeping it heated/slightly warmer would increase development time? Thanks for response

Anywhere from 65 - 72 F is more than fine. This community has stopped encouraging incubation because it often creates more problems than it solves.

It will increase the speed at which organisms develop, but likely much more so for bacteria and other undesirables, allowing them a chance to overcome what you're actually trying to cultivate.

Also, heating via conduction to the bottom of the jar can, in my experience, create a sort of convection which drives moisture out through the GE holes, and leaves you with a dry cake. So your intuition was right on that being a possibility.

Ah...... well see now you mention it I’m not completely sure of the GE qualities of this particular jar and wondered if you could give your opinion on it , in my previous grows I’ve used jars with different lids with obvious GE routes , this lid has sort of a funny lid on it (I want to say it almost feels like polystyrene but not quite a soft?) is this lid permeable/adequate? Thanks
