Is this just bruising or contam?

First time grower, following bods unmodified tek, roughly 8 days in, this appeared this morning

If it is bruising, what can I do to improve?

Rye spawn, but after digging around I found this thread https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23461134
So after further inspection it looks a lot like the bruising in that thread, a very inky blue, not greeny/blue like trich or penicillin, I think the substrate is dehydrated, so I misted directly and cut down fae, will keep a close eye on it now, just hope that's the right thing to do

Its bruising..but you;ve got standing water on the surface..that should never happen, which usually means too little airflow..when you mist you just want some very fine beads on-top of the mycelium, not puddles..most of the water is inside of the substrate, so you only need to moisten the top layer to allow evaporation which promotes pins to form..so cut down on misting, and allow plenty of FAE..mist once per day tops, usually only every 2-3 is required

I heavy misted before I went to bed last night and alot of the bruising has cleared up, going to cut holes into the box to provide more fae, I was following bods tek to a tee, but going to add some inch holes just above the substrate, thanks for the information!

So what is the container? A shoebox or mono? Shoeboxes can dry out faster than monos simply as there is less volume. For mono's if you have a 3-4 inch sub depth they don't usually need misting till after first flush, usually though I find its better to restrict airflow until 100% colonisation is complete, putting straight into fruiting mode has never been as effective in my grows.
Holes with micropore tape covering them has been very effective, 2 layers on bottom holes, 1 layer on top

It's a 32L monotub with 3inch sub

Haven't misted since last night and I added 4 holes, 2 on each side.
I think it dried out due to my space heater being directly below this tub, I've moved my setup around now, temps are lower (72ish rather than 78ish) but I have a normal fan running to provide FAE. I have 4 other tubs all doing well during colonisation. Most if not all have been put straight into fruiting conditions (mist/fan if necessary) with 12/12 light cycle

Right..that's your issue. cut the fan, monos do not need any extra, and the space heater, 65-75 is perfect

Even that isn't needed, you'll just dry stuff out..SGFC work with natural air currents, as long as you don't have them in a sealed room, there is plenty of air moving around, just watch dust darting around in sunlight through the windows

I work from home so I can keep a close eye on them, the fruits in my SGFC are thin stemmed and fuzzy feet, so that's why I added the fan today, but you've been right about everything so far, so away with the fan it is
Edit: without the space heater my house is terribly cold 55-60f, so I've just adjusted its position so it's not blowing directly or beneath any tubs.

Sounds good..fuzzy feet are usually due to high humidity..You should have the cakes on foil or lids only the diameter of the cake, if its larger cut it back, as otherwise you block air flow..and poke some pinholes in it to stop water pooling under cakes..make sure you have 4-6 inches of perlite and holes every couple of inches
