cron you ever think about trying them on pelletized wheat grass or some type of grass?

what were the temps they grew at?

I have a few questions for you:

1: How long did they take to consolidate then pin?
2: What temps where they kept at? saw the other post :thumbup:
3: Was the substrate sterilized or pasteurized?
  ~If it was sterilized, did you do the whole pre-soak the straw w/ soapy water to soften up endospores technique?

The sub is just a pf cake lol.
It consolidated about 2 almost 3 weeks

Isn't there still debate about semperviva and hoogshagneii being the same species? I remember me and Allan talking about it, still working on getting a clean culture for him to sequence so wasnt sure if there was any update (unless im confusing semperviva and hoogshagneii with semperviva and something else)

Nice! Looking forward to seeing how those turn out. I saw a mention of them recently being on the easier end of exotics and being pretty potent and it got me interested in them.

What’s up all!  Been a minute.

Haven’t been focusing on exotics as much but keeping my Caerulescens plates going and have had some interesting developments.

This clone plate from my first indoor fruit put out its own little fruit. :-)


Which I cloned/transferred on 11/01:


Couple more Careu plates knotting up.  Probably have 10-12 plates with either hyphal knots forming or primodia growing.




I had put my master plates up for a week or so while reorganizing my room and setting up my studio.  They were at around 65-70F with minimal ambient light.  Went to check on them and several of the plates, almost all my C1 and X1 plates actually, had hyphae or primodia forming so I moved them into a more controlled environment.  This was the first plate to take off but I have a few more coming along.  Just need some SCB.

Also found these in my yard beginning of October.  They don’t look like the Caerulescens I’ve been finding but smelled similar.  Both put out good prints so I’ll be taking them to agar!

This should be neoxpensis. The stipe looks right but the should have a conic cap. These pins are still small so we will see how it grows out! Alan gave me the print so I’d imagine it’s right . I thought these guys would not give me too much trouble but I was wrong. These were pretty tough

Hey Jake!  Been a while.  Any luck with the Caerus yet? 

Have my SCB on the way and a jar of Ps. Sub GS ready to go.

Just put some Pan. Cyan Beulah spores on agar to give them another shot.

What’s up Asura.  While the site was down from being hacked I started DJing again, which inspired me to set up a home studio and start working on music production as well so I’ve been spending a lot of time learning the software.

How are your Caerus coming along?  Any pics?

Just transferred some more GS to a 30% straw, 35% straw pellet, 30% pine shaving, 5% manure sub.  Think the oats I made were a little to dry but myc looked healthy and smelled good.

Something new I’m trying on this batch is to keep it in zero light with temp around 60-65F until the sub is fully colonized in the myco bag. Then move it to a tub, let it recover, case then back in the dark until primodia starts forming.  Once primordia is visible I’ll put into fruiting conditions of 75-80F @ 70-77% humidity.

Right on man, that's cool. That's the hobby I was doing before mushrooms ripped me away from it :lol:

Nothing worth showing yet. It's all growing out on grain.

Although I don't think it's mentioned, caerulescens can be consolidated on brown
rice for two months, dehydrated and then made directly into tea - without having to fruit.

So, I have a 2 lbs bag of rice going for just that along with the normal grow.

Damn I was growing what I thought was pesa but kept getting small fruits exactly like those I still have the print maybe I'll try it again .. now that I think about it the myc alwats looked off to me
