Yeah this culture hates grain. Pearl Barely at least. I was going to put it outside in some chips if it doesn't get moving soon. Seems to me I noticed that last time but hard to say. The only written history was at a site that is gone now. Anyways I feel a lot of PF cakes in my future. I'd really like to have the pots out by spring.

Haven’t had zaps yet but I do love substrops…
Lost my previous attempt at these guys after 2 months when I recased… but going in for round two now. Adding some hwfp to the mix this time and going in with more patience, heard from a friend there probably a 3-4 month wait. P. Thaiaeruginaeomaculans on grain ready for some tubs in the coming days!

Supposedly manure loving but maybe the wood can help in some way, as far as I’m aware it bears some relation to niveo-tropicalis which isn’t too far behind in the rotation. Either way time will tell.

Bobwastaken also used an air pump to push in air like what you described. Interesting to note that both the ovoid and stuntzii seemed to continue fruiting once pinning started despite being moved to warmer conditions.
That actually makes sense seeing as both are primarily fruiting in the spring. Once temps and humidity rise to correct fruiting conditions, it’s likely to just get warmer.

 ll.
I've seen more new exotic psilocybe species I didn't know in the past two weeks or so... Blows my mind.
Meanwhile in the great snowy expanse: I literally have to have a dedicated tub for exotic cultures now... Think I might have a problem tbh

Looks pretty normal to me..
Yeah you have to give Stuntzii a little cold bump and then they will fruit indoors at temps between 55f and the upper 60s. I have pics in a broken computer that I did in my basement along side of some Subaeruginascens a few years ago. No air pump. Just a tub with frequent airing and misting.
One of these days I'll fix it lol. Got a lot of pics and some valuable stuff in there. So when I hit the power button it starts the fans and hard drive spinning at high speed and won't go farther than that. Anyone know what that could be? I got lucky once and it started but the screen went black before I could finish downloading pics. Trying again now and all I hear is fans.

Of all the problems in the world I think you got a good one right there. I should organize my things better, just have stacks of plates all intermingling everywhere, to be fair I know where everything is but anyone else, good luck…

Two cupboards and a box on top of the fridge. We won't talk about the two in the fridge. Produce drawers are full of syringes too.

Can someone just make an official indoor exotics thread already lol.

Sounds like your windows install or motherboard. Regardless probably not your drive. Take the drive out and plug it into a USB enclosure, plug that into a working PC. If you take the drive to best buy or staples and ask for usb enclosure they have a decent chance to point you at the part you need. Probably just get this
https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-FIDECO-Drive-Cable-Universal/dp/B0919N4XNW/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?crid=3G4PADAMNLGU8&keywords=sata+ide+USB+with+power&qid=1702257437&sprefix=sata+ide+usb+with+power%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-12
It will handle any drive from the last 20yrs
Browse files, find files, copy to working PC. Can also just plug it in as a secondary drive to a tower, same process.

You’re the man wavy! Because I have a stack of pcs I need to go through 😂 what’s worse is I started taking the fans out of them and other things to start using for other various projects 😂 so it’s nice to know you can just plug the hard drive into something else

I don't want to go too far off-topic but you'll get charged $200+ by staples to do that work. IMO if you already bought another computer and all you need to do is get at files then don't get gouged.

Good to know! My first run was primarily manure and they tore through that as well. Thinking a combo of wood and manure is what I’ll be doing.
Now I’m thinking I’ll g2g some to some chips as well to use as spawn for the future. Are yours as dense and robust? I thought they were exceptionally strong mycelium, when I went to dump the tub a while back I had a noticeably hard time breaking it apart, they had a very strong hold on everything.

Yes! The myc was on par with cultivated cubensis - strong and aggressive.
I think a manure/ chips mix would work well!

I haven't stripped the fans out of the three I have yet. Good idea though. Needed something for the new GH. The oldest one is from the 90s and has all of Billy's emails on it, but the other two are not that old. Thanks so much for this waves!
Back on track.. Made a small round of PF jars with some different test substrates while the Seahawks were getting whomped. I'm thinking these will be top fruiting tests. The pace lately has been whomping me lol, so I'm not sure exactly what will get what yet, but I'll get it figured out when I fire up the hood for a little cleanup round.

Was playing around today after securing some transfers of banderillensis and neoxalapensis and made 2x neox/1x band mini-bottles out of some spent tea leaves, coir, and brf. I'll probably try a bunch of bottle mixes with tea leaves and different compost types with those and zaps after I get some growth and more plates. Seems like everything I've ever put on spent tea leaves is a happy camper.

I've always had good luck with used Yerba Mate. Should probably start collecting some again. Shot a few jars with the Neoxalapensis last night.. can't remember which ones at the moment. It's my Monday. Boo Hiss
I'll check that when I get home.
