Not as good as yours.
 Psilocybe Samuiensis Day 7
Still trying for a better top shot. Things are thin on this agar which was actually for reviving old spores.. which is working btw. I have ignition from 5 year old Zapotecorum (Barrerae) and 7 year old Caerulescens (Tonila). Also very thin so I'm sure it's the agar. I put more to a batch of PDA the other day. Got another batch of grain agar to cook and pour as well. Shits going on.

My t1s are growing out right now and I'll be sending to millet in about a week probably.

Probably going to T1 the first batch this weekend. Going to take them to some grain agar and MEA. See how that goes.

They seemed to like MEA for me, curious how grain agar will do them. I see good fortune for us all in the near future!

The agar in that pick is very weak grain agar with some ATP. Great for firing up old spores but not so much after that. Should see something from the PDA if not tonight, over the next few days. I'm getting over loaded here but exotics are seasonal here too and it's time to ride the wave for the next six months.. if I'm lucky. Last Spring sucked for anything indoors.

Never heard of atp in agar Iβll have to give that a go for some stubborn ones I got.
And man I hear you, I used to be fine in the summer but the last couple years have been unbearably hot, gotta make use of what we got I suppose. Thankfully though thereβs only like 4 months that have been unworkable over here, though if the trend continues I can see that gap widening over timeβ¦

I first started using ATP in plant cell culture. It's pretty cool stuff. There's also several studies of its effect on filamentous bacteria and spores. I've yet to find any data in regards to mushrooms, but I really think it's doing something. I've tried to germinate several of these old exotic spores numerous different ways with no luck. Put them on ATP agar and they pop within a few days. I'll be putting it to the test even more in the near future with much older spores from several species and even some of my own breeding.
Yeah, climate change sucks. Last spring was so humid here and I have never seen so much mold. Pretty much had to step back to PF Tek style growing until now. I'm getting stuff to grain now with no troubles so it's time to get to work!

Thatβs for sure man.
This year was the hottest and one of the wettest in the last decade where Iβm at, the amount of bugs and mold that suddenly showed up was horrifying.
Middle of the desert and Iβm seeing my first ever mushrooms all over the neighborhood this month

Wow, wonder how long those guys have been lying in wait out there!
I remember using atp for something with plants a very long time ago, maybe rooting cuttings or seed germination? I canβt remember what but I have a vague memory. Wonder if other plant enzymes could help in some way?

Haven't posted in a while but finally back with some fun updates! Got the real Psilocybe hoogshagenii colonizing agar and substrate, sequenced and confirmed. I'll be posting updates into this journal but here is a preview: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/28537207

Some photos from the wild collection:

It's a fan of brf cakes & similar, and for this first round of testing, I used a blend of peat / coco / verm / oak&hickory pellets / hemp fibers / mulch to see if it would colonize it and so far it is!

@scapo, super excited to see what you do with those guys! Thatβs a dream right there god damn I hope I can get to try the official someday. Well done mate!
@pnin, theyβre going, slow and steadyβ¦

I tend to prep milo on the dry side so going to drop some to wetter milo and rye next week I think and see if they gain some speed, small wedge too. Though theyβve been slow on agar for me too so who knows.. but theyβre still kicking at least!

I have been sharing cultures of it where I can with other local legends, prints are easier for sharing elsewhere

I'm not sure about the legend part, but I have the local part covered. Fellow PNW'r if you get bored.
Begging aside lol. Updates..
I made seven T1's of the Samuiensis last night and there's still room to grow on the germ plate so there might be more next weekend.
Caerulescens Tonila is cleanly T1'd to PDA and hauling ass. I've already got a sliver in LC and I even managed a smidge of that into a PF Jar where it's cleanly growing. Wish all the exotics were moving this fast lol.
Zapotecorum Barrerae has been T1'd and is currently trying to outgrow some bacteria. Might take a few jumps but I think I can get it. I eek'd a little into a PF Jar as well. The bacteria is showing there, but doesn't seem to be hindering the mycelium much. Time will tell.
Subtropicalis and Zapotecorum Valdivia have germinated fast.. along with half of Chile. Gonna be some work there.
Caerulescens SC and Aztecorum is cleanly to LC and going to more plates this weekend along with Niveotropicalis and another Subtropicalis culture.
There's several more things up and coming too. I'll update those as/if they progress.
Shit's still goin' on.
