Why am I not following this thread? Here’s a couple things of subaeruginascens I’ve got. Mostly growing on woody substrates but have a pot mixed with some compost, manure, and woody debris which looks good and alive, not real photogenic tho. Still waiting to see how it fruits.

Best answer I can give is prayer. It showed up right in my yard. it'll be just as amazing if this actually is a clone, had to go into another realm to scratch out the tissue. Captain said their myc was super slow. Also still waiting on 100% confirmation, but still has been a fun exercise in studying and trying to suppress whatever assumptions of the supernatural and miracles I have.

No way this could be the myc I hope it is. The transfers from last night have filled about half the plate. Made a couple more germ plates. First germ plate was covered in bacteria with one spot of some kind of myc surrounded by goo.

Not sure where to post this, and the pics don’t do it justice. Not edible, or psychoactive, but really fucking cool. I’ve made a couple blocks of bioluminescent Panellus stipticus and put them on our bedside tables and in our kids room and the glow all night. They are really slow to fruit, that clusters looked like that for about a month. But the myc glows in agar, grain, and sawdust. It’s not bright, but bright enough when I wake up to take a piss I can see if the dog or kids toys are on the floor. Figure you folks in here like fungi just cause fungi is neat and they can do neat things.

I doubt, but who knows, I’ve found weeds growing in really dark crawls spaces. I tried one night with a 30 second exposure on a tripod and could barely make it out. I maybe could’ve messed around with the settings more to get a better shot, but I’m out of practice and when I have a chance to sleep I need to sleep. Still, probably the funnest fungi I’ve got to play with. One morning my kid crawls into bed and I hand them the jar of grain when it was glowing and they go “oh, a mushrooms?, I guess I do like mushrooms”. So that was priceless.

Makarorae. These seem very easy, but also I spawned this basket almost 12 months ago so they do take patience, they seem productive. I am working on the details and will share shortly.

The bigger one still has that cortina type veil, much more robust looking veil than its close relatives but very similar. No sign of spore deposits yet and the gills look very pale.

the_chosen_one said: That's some pretty mycelium in that first pic. Looks like early Zapotecorum mycelium with that sweeping spiral outer edge. Anyone ever notice it's always a clockwise spiral inwards? At least in the northern hemisphere anyways.
Yeah definitely clone that blob.

I didn't have enough plates to grab the pseudosclerotia from the Subtrop jar last round. I'm going to try and get it next round. Gotta hurry though. I saw some blue in it this morning. Hoping it makes it to the weekend.
I have absolutely noticed this. I thought I was crazy and that no one would believe me.

One thing I notice with fine wispy tall cultures like blewit is they move when you mark the plastic above them or move your finger tip over them, some kinda dang ole electro magnetic fungal polarity man.
Unrelated to that. Here’s a subaeruginascens culture.

Yes, I’ve got a couple more jars that I want to run on other substrates, but coir worked well last time. I haven’t seen it pin on agar, but I could picture it happening. The cultures I’m working with now look better than the ones I started with.

Psilocybe aff. Hopii (Gandalfiana) T2 day 26
Looking good. If you manage to get fruits I'm going to have to come up with something to trade with as this species is just too cool looking.
They’re so fucking cool! Pretty neat how quite a few folks found them in different locations now that people are looking for them. Makes me wonder if they occur in my neck of the woods, or maybe a close relative of them does. That hopiii, mescaloronsis, gandalfiana branch gets me wondering what the continent looked like to their common ancestor.

Took a transfer from a subaeruginascens plate labeled 1/14/22. Looks like it took off pretty good. I wasn’t able to pull this one off back then, so hope to be able to this time. I’m pretty impressed in some of these cultures on Petri dishes that are two years old and don’t skip a beat on a single transfer. I do have a semilanceata that was taken from a two year old plate that is definitely not that fast to get going again, but think it was pretty slow to begin with.
