But I like to learn why its no good so don't have to ask again.

Good idea. I usually save a little bit before going to grains if I don't have another backup to keep the culture.

Learned the hard way on Pans. Sets you back like 3 weeks.

left one looks like dryer lint. no radial organization at all. the one on the right isn't uniform, but has some radial organization. see it?

i learned by doing, that dryer lint look is bunk. put it to a pint and see what you get.

Can you share ratios and tub size there? Any misting or just dialed in? Looks like it's gonna CRUSH, by the way. Mine are a bit dry as that was recent reading, but gonna mist a tad.

Thanks Stare, I'm excited to see this fill in more. It's 4q of MS to 4qt Coir, no top layer, in a 56qt tub. My holes are only 1.25in so I make three holes rather than two on the sides. No misting, just dialed in..I prepped my coir slightly on the wet side but not overboard thankfully. Removed the tape and stuffed with poly 3 days ago

Edit: I'm really thinking about just pulling the loose poly out the top holes to crank up the FAE but I dunno.... Maybe on one of my other RW monos

I would loosen up the poly for sure that extra fae will make the tub explode it's looking nice .. I stuff my tubs medium tight all the way around fruit at spawn adjust as needed ...

Well ...
I THINK I may be on solid ground again. I’ve been very unlucky with my RustyWhyte efforts. However, I think I may have escaped the bad guys. I’’ve Let this plate get overgrown but I feel confident that if I stay away from the edges I will have a decent inoculate for some jars of grain. I think that given my struggles, I’m going to stick two 2-3 shoe boxes rather than expanding to mono tubs... wish me luck. :smile:
