Finishing up my first grow with a few shoeboxes and everything has been going well so far. My only concern is the gold/yellow color starting to develop on the upper portion of shoebox #1 and throughout in shoebox #2. As you can tell these are pretty old, spent, and starting to dry out. So could it be a contamination or just the myc starting to dry on the surface? I'm asking to avoid potential health risks and getting mold spores in my home.
It does have an odor, I should have included that in the main post. I'll be dumping the tubs in a few days when the last fruits fully mature. Thanks for the info, now I know there's nothing to worry about!
