 b+ growth concern

Following bod's easy AF tek my cakes have been looking real good. However, I am a bit worried with one of my cakes. It has been fruting for around 5 days and the growth so far looks very different from all the other mushrooms. Should I be concerned at all?

I'm sorry to say bud, but that is a very strange growth..Rule of thumb if you qustion it you should either isolate it somewhere away from other cultures in case of cross contamination if it indeed does have potential to contaminate others and watch closey or toss it to be safe. Your health is far more valuable than one cake. Win some loose some(:

Yeah I had a feeling it wasn’t normal... I pulled it off the cake so I hope that’s the last I’ll see if it. There are a few other pins on the cake that look normal currently but I’ll keep a close eye on them in case they start to turn wonky. If the pins are contaminated I’m assuming there will be visible signs on the pins as they grow?

Yes. The tips turn black and they stop growing.
