I want to make a 300 gallon trough with something..i think the steamer is way to go..but im havin trouble finding info and its hard for me to navigate on here because im not great at computer stuff..peace

did you try the rubber roof/pond liner material for this? just wondering  hwo things turned out?

I have used Sillicone 2 for injection ports for jar lids as well as completely sealing all ports for my pasteurizer, which includes the entrance for the heating element. No leaks. Been in operation for years.

This looks like a great build you have here.  With the two steam generators, do you have always on for X amount of time?  Or do you have them hooked up to some sort of thermostat/controller.  I have been looking into steam generators to blast steam into a vessel of sorts, and the walk-in cooler is seems perfect.

Are those 10 Lb bags you are using?  How many can fit per cart with that set up, and how many carts can fit in the room? 

Many steam generators say they only go up to 140 F.  Do you have to modify it to go higher, or will the steam already be 212 F because it is steam?

Since this post was made what are some good and bad things since you have been using it.  Thanks man

After waiting for a few months now for my SS steam closet to be built I am considering a small walk in cooler. I can across this while researching. I don't know how much different it is from pond liner other than it has the adhesive already on it, and I know this is an old thread.  Any updates on what you did? I would like an update also!!

I don't think that tape will work. I don't think the adhesive would stick after repeated heating and cooling cycles. It would also require a lot of tape because you would also have to tape the seams that the tape would create. But your real problem would be sealing the bottom of the drum and the sides! That would actually be impossible.

I think painting on silicone mixed with vm&p naphtha is still the best idea. At least the best one I can come up with.

This is what I would use. I may or may not need thinning with vm&p naphtha...

Is the leak that detrimental to the operation of the unit? Can you just maintain it's currently operation as is or is it a must fix?
