What would I need to do to start up my business? Maybe people who grow gourmets/ cultures could give me some pointers?

I’ve been thinking about visiting the Detroit mushroom farm. Think that would be rather beneficial but shroomery is much more accessible.

The mushroom farmers by me are dickholes There the type of people who would would stuff their dicks in the mouth of your dying mother so she can't take her last breath. That's way I'm pushing to get my Farm running as much as possible. By me its really not that big of a deal as long as your registered.

Yeah just a business license which is just an LLC with a DBA (brand name) business bank account with a EIN (tax id number) then you can sell at will. (Most likely) since a culture isn't technically a food product. If they insist that it's a food product then you'd have to jump thru more hoops to get the health inspections of your facility n what not.

Sweet thanks guys. That’s all just insurance and the proper bank account? Currently I’m just planning on selling cultures as I don’t have the space for a grow right now. What might I need for selling fresh mushrooms?

You'd need a proper facility that's up to code. It is possible to do in a residential property all up to code n what not, but inspections inspections

At the moment I do about 50-100 dishes a week and I don't consider myself good enough to sell proper cultures You see there's two points there's cultures for home growers(which I do sell) then for Farmers(which I don't) If your not doing at least 50 dishes a day I would not suggest you sell cultures
Second have you figure it out how many dishes you'll have to sell per month to get at least a OK income?
Here's my money blue print(quick run through)
1 how much money do I need to make per month 2 take that and divide by how many days I want to work 3 divide that by how many hours 4 multiple that by 3
Now that's how much money each hour needs to make you
OK now you have to work out how many sales need to happen and be done every hour to complete that
Lastly let's say your good at cultures it means nothing if your not good at business and to be good at business you need to be good at sales
Managers that succeed are almost always good salers Ones that fail are almost always bad salers.
(PS I'm pretty Fucked so some of the shit here may be gibberish I have no clue at the moment)

Yeah I was curious about that, do you not need a license to sell through eBay or are you saying that’s a good way to sell ?

Yeah I have a few threads on my plans and what not. in regards to cultures, I’m just going to keep approximately a shoebox worth of masters for each species/variety and make a quart worth of LI made into syringes. If they want a plate I could do that but LI makes more bang for your buck and syringes are more user friendly.

What’s your definition of successful? I’m planning to retire early so I’m putting max effort into this. I can make oodles of LI almost effortlessly so if I could sell as much as I could make then I’m rich lol.

Have you done your market research? Is there a market for that many? If not, how many?
If you're looking to sell gourmet you're likely going to have to diversify simply from LI/LC. People seem to want plug spawn, wood spawn, grain spawn... etc. I don't see a high demand for LI of gourmet mushrooms.
Honestly, your best bet would likely be to get in on the "ORGANIC MUSHROOM FARM KIT!" craze that seems to be hitting. If you can produce a salable kit that was something besides oysters or shiitake for a reasonable price you're likely to make money.
Find your niche, market it, exploit it.
Fuck I hate capitalism.

First you need product, a way to sell your product then customers.
Theres supply an demand and how long your product lasts, a culture can last forever if they take a sporeprint so price appropriately an dont sell to cheap cause people will think your product is shit an wont respect it.
You need to also set yourself apart from companies like aloha, why would i buy it from you an not them? You gotta sell yourself ya know?

Yeah forsure gotta offer some deals and what not, I’m not familiar with what my competition is offering but I’d do a whole bunch of stuff I guess if that’s what they want. Maybe offer deals like “ buy a syringe and get a free print” .

What you really need is good reviews which will take some time, most businesses dont make a profit the first year.
Just google it an check out the first page mainly the top 3 cause people usually dont go past the first 3.
You also want lots of pics, harvest weight on average ect. You can start a youtube channel an get exposure to customers for free.
You want links to your product all over on other sites an stuff. So like a youtube link to ebay, the shroomery, your website an related sites vise versa. You want a web of links leading back to your product.

Awsome! I was actualy just thinking of creating a YouTube channel for the passive income. Saw some very intriguing fool proof ways to make videos that give you the best odds of making money as a “ marketing associate” or something like that.
