Hey everybody, I just Came across a few nice looking shrooms. I tried my hardest trying to figure out from the source what they are but I came back with nothing :frown:. I was just hoping someone here could give me a hand Identifying these bad boys :smile:

Did you buy these? A lot of the caps look like dried cubes, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

Some of the scrunched up golden caps look ok. Can you get a picture of the stems and gills? The top left in the first picture looks like it has some weird mini stem connected that looks kind of right, but that doesn't mean it's right.

That said many dried shrooms in the store look similar to dried cubes. All the flat ones that look off are what make it questionable, but it's possible they were found and picked wild.

Edit: if they were picked wild it's very possible you got a few different types.  The closed caps that look scrunched are the ones that look mostly legit, but wait for a trusted identifier

Psilocybe cubensis is correct

Edit: I will go as far as to say that they are cultivated psilocybe cubensis.

Yeah what doc said, but that is pretty questionable he added such fucked up specimen into your bag especially buying so much weight as if it was dumped off on you. Indoor grows shouldn't be producing fungus falling apart like that...

They are likely fine although they might be allowing harvests even when there's clusters of the grow with black mold (I'm specifically referencing a 40 aquarium janky pf grow that actually appeared in high times when it was taken care of better). Again yours are likely fine, but unless they gave them to you for free or at a discounted price I would look for someone else to go through.

Maybe look into making tea out of them and filtering just in case as even though it's not like it will remove mold toxins it for be better than eating it straight if there eased anything like that on them, which in my case I think ended up developing over time in storage as they came from a contaminated environment... like literally I remember him saying at one point he could wash the mold off before drying and it would be fine so his shit was straight questionable, but for pretty much quarters for an oz where it wasn't until the last few oz that it became an issue.

Again I am not trying to get you to freak out about them, but just being straightforward about a possibility to be aware of.

They look fine,  I would eat them, but I prefer to boil them and make koolaid with the liquid.
