Hell yeah. Its the beez neez.  Its got some dark rich pollen.

I started some wild dagga too, it grows crazy high with giant bunches of long flowers that humming birds love.

Cherry Bomb Feminized.  These were germinated on 2/5 and the seed was planted on 2/6. They broke the soil on 2/7, so about a month old now.

Beautiful leaf structure.
For roughly a month and week since germination, and for being an indoor grow, those are pretty impressive little plants.
The symmetry, density, and structure of the leaves may as well be porn to me.
It's difficult to tell true health of the plant when LED's are shining on it, but with the other attributes I mentioned, it looks like you know what you're doing.

What LED set up are you running?

I don’t have really anything going on right now because there’s still a lot of snow covering everything, but I grow a bunch of stuff every year.  Couple types of tomatos, peppers, some kind of leafy greens, cucumbers, basil, strawberries, etc.  Last year I grew watermelons.  I grow a patch of poppies every year.  Landscape this one area with colorful coleus.  My yard naturally grows shit like peppermint, spearmint, lemon balm, cape gooseberries, raspberries, etc.  I grow a bunch of other flowers, lantana, lobelia, petunias, geraniums or begonias, dahlia, etc.  My cacti are all dormant in the garage until it stops being cold.  I’m ready for winter to be over.

How long is your growing season roughly?
You're able to grow a lot of plants I wish I could still grow.
I wouldn't have expected there to be still snow on the ground however. On average, is there snow this time of the year there?
Unfortunately this year it doesn't look like anything is being put in soil outside here until early May, possibly later.

Yields will be the lowest I've had since living here. Damn, gorgeous snow!

Thanks, man!  I'm running a SolarSystem 550 by California Lightworks.
https://californialightworks.com/products/solarsystem-550

I have them planted in Fox Farms Ocean Forest, which seems to be a little hot in the beginning but tends to maintain mostly adequate nutrients for a full grow.

In a 2X4X8 gorilla grow tent.

I love that setup for a contained grow.
I haven't personally used the Cali lightworks panels, but I have a friend running twin 225's in the same size tent as yours (wasn't the smartest setup), and another running the SolarExtreme1000 in a slightly bigger tent than yours. With good results.
I still want to try out at some point the $100 Chinese panels available. Theoretically the same wattage to the same amount of LED's would have the same results...

Out of curiosity, are you able to grow outdoors?
I only ask because I grew indoors most of my life and going with a greenhouse a couple years back, improved yield by 4-5x to my surprise. (The clones planted outside where from the indoor mother).

As far as the soil goes, I think Ocean Forest by FF is hands down the best soil to grow that's already prepared for you. As you said, hot in the beginning, but very manageable.
But the soil is what led to that incredible gain in yield as well for myself.

I had a mentor, so to speak that taught me how to build soil before that first greenhouse grow. Basically buying raw, pure soil and inoculating it with specific bacteria and fungus cultures.
That along with my own compost, and mushroom compost I believe was able to yield around 2x compared to Ocean Forest.

I'm going to end up derailing this thread talking about weed. Feel free to shoot me a pm if you'd like to learn about soil building, have any questions. Or just want to chat about growing.

What are you growing in your garden this year? What do you want to be growing? Feel free to share pictures and any tips or garden related stuff.

I also joined the Audubon Society for $10 and they sent me 12 3' trees to grow. I will keep 1 or 2 and sell the rest or plant them around town once they get here.

You received a dozen 3-foot tall fruit trees, just for joining Audubon for a mere $10!?...Dang! Good deal.

We have our first stretch of sunny and warm-er days going on right now (nor-cal), should be up in the 70s for a few days soon here.

I just started to work the soil in my backyard a few days ago, mowed it down and digging through the grass/native plants that grew in thick over winter and getting some plots opened up...this way the soil can start to heat up in those spots....I looove digging into and working the earth this time of year, it has that nice fluffy/soft texture once it's worked a bit, feeling the soil in my hands it has that perfect moisture to it and it smells so good, I love it lol......I notice the soil in my yard is absolutely CHOCK FULL of worms this time around compared to last spring, a single small shovel scoop dug into the ground ANYWHERE in my yard will un-earth a small handful of worms. There are lots of them in the soil through out my entire yard, some real big fatties too lol...I've been placing some of them into the pots/soil that my weed plants will be grown in.

My plans for this time around (so far), all heirloom varieties.....

Sugar Rush Peach Pepper
Lemon Drop Pepper
Tunisian Baklouti Pepper

Ha'ogen melon :drooling::drooling::drooling:
Charentais melon :drooling::drooling::drooling:

Orangeglo Watermelon (orange flesh variety)
Ali Baba Watermelon (heirloom from Iraq)

Purple Carrots

Two varieties of Sunflower...One that's massive, potentially 24 inch diameter flowers and 9+ feet tall. The other a bit shorter and with smaller flowers & different colors.

Other flowers....A few varieties each of Dahlia, Cosmos, Coreopsis, Bachelor's Button, and Zinnia.

Two varieties of poppies (I sowed the seed 2 to 3 weeks ago, not seeing any germination yet  )

.......That's what I have seed for so far and what I plan on growing for sure. But I'd like to also grow a few varieties of beans, and pumpkin....Some aromatic culinary/medicinal herbs....And I'd also like to grow a few types of potato, particularly a sweet purple-flesh type :drooling: .

Cannabis.....

6 plants total.

Two or three will be "Lemon Wookie Glue" plants (grown from seed)

The rest will be clones of different strains.

And I have some cacti I've been growing for several years...Nothing special...Pach, PC, Cuzco, Myrtillocactus.

I started one small patch of allenii in my backyard last spring, I intend on getting two more going this time around in some sort of large pot/container of sorts.

I'd like to eventually get a kratom tree or two....And I'm also very interested in trying to grow khat someday, I'm super curious how that goes for you Lopho :yesnod:  .

Damn gophers though!.....They weren't too bad last year as far as eating the roots of my plants or pushing up through out the garden. But they're certainly present...Last year I'd try to flood them out of their hole, then once they popped up (if they did) I'd either wack em' with a shovel, or I'd attempt to grab them (with leather gloves) and place them in a bucket then re-locate them at a nearby riparian/woodland habitat. Last summer I killed 2 and buried them near my compost, and I was able to re-locate two others. I prefer to try to re-locate them if possible, I hate killing any sort of critter if it does not have to be done...But sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do  .

I would love to place one or two of my weed plants in the ground/earth to see how they'd do (versus being in fabric pots), but I don't want to risk it with the gophers around here.

Other than gophers, which weren't too big of an issue for me...the only "pest" issue I had was aphids on my melon plants. Lots of aphids....My yard has a huge amount of lady-bugs this year though, I've been spotting a lot of their eggs too...Lot of lace-wings too...So I'm hoping there'll be a decent balance of critters in the yard this time around. When I mowed my yard down I intentionally left a large portion around the perimeter untouched, since I view it as basically a "nursery" for all sorts of bugs/critters (beneficial or not), and I like allowing a portion of the yard to just grow "naturally", I have lots of nettles and mallow growing around.

In this part of PA, I’d say the growing season is reliably from late May to late September, and less reliably a bit into April or possibly even late October.  So we get about 4.5-5 months of no frost at all.  And yeah, snow through mid March is common here, and snow throughout April isn’t unheard of.  So while we get much less snow than you, I know how it is to wait til May to start planting in earnest.  It sucks for plants, but I know you’re into snowboarding and stuff, so at least you’ve got a while left for that.

How dare you ever call me a snowboarder, Burke?
Only buttholes ride a plank down a mountain while bound in sideways.
I ski, gloriously.

Silly jokes aside, I wouldn't have thought your growing season was similar to mine. It makes sense considering how far South I am compared to you. Basically trading longitude for altitude as far as temperatures go. Interesting stuff.

Pomposity is the only factor that determines how good skiers are.
My level of pomposity in my craft allows me shred so hard! Making perfect S turns in 6 feet of fresh pow pow on a 60 degree downward slope!

It's funny how even though no one actually cares if one skis or snowboards nowadays, the mentality that it did from the 90's still holds. In a jokey and ironic way.

Most of the people I ride with, board.

I had snowboard friends in the 90s who would refer to a skier as a “two plank wank”.  Hella rivalries.  I remember the skateboarders would shit on the rollerbladers too.  I wonder what happened when the razor scooter kids hit the scene.

Could it be that the Razor scooter was the item needed to end the rivalries?
It was a way that snowboarders, skateboarders, skiers, and roller bladers could get together and make fun of the same thing together.

I started writing this comment as a joke, but I think I may be onto something.

Ha, LOL Razor Scooters are so lame. Some adults ride them to work wear I live and it gives me the "douce chills."

Got most of my trees from the Audobon Society today! 5 American Redbud and 5 Flowering Florida Dogwood. They sent 10 random trees for $10 and I have a red maple and a sourwood coming too!
