I was pretty sure, I had some and they looked like that just alot smaller, you want poppies about 6-12 inches apart from each other, the roots only grow down a couple inches but they spread out 5-10 inches usually

They're kind of beyond that stage now. Needed to thin before they bulked out in the cabbage stage. They wont get much wider if you give them the room now. They're about ready to start growing upwards.

give them plenty of nutes. more packed ime means more plants but less flower and pods per plant. Let them go nuts with the pods they set by providing all they would need in the space their roots have.
