I read that the VG will act like alcohol in a sense that it will prevent the "tea" from going bad, but I just don't know how much to add. I'm shocked no one has ever tried this before.

No I’m not. Im making a tincture that I want to use everyday which means freezing is no good.

People do it all the time, just freeze in ice cube tray the dose you want and then throw in a bag. Pop your ice cube in your tea or whatever you want , no need for preservative. It is the simplest solution,  but to each their own.
