I’m working with GT, M. Romero, and Rusty whytes right now. I’ll deff share some pics when I have something to show off. Oats jars are currently colonizing now for me.

Edit. Figured I’d throw these up. Nothing too special. 3 shoeboxes from MS aNd all my A2G jars I’m waiting on.

One of my mainstays in production, here's a 166g from Tuesday, from a Ms tub for collecting clone tissue. Last hurrah, 3rd flush, fucker was deeply rooted and a side pin, sucking up whatever was left in the corner of the tub with a few other sisters. Took her 8-9 days to grow, then she pops her veil and turns into a pancake in 4-5 hours, while I was sleeping, hence a late harvest for my liking. Base is gnarly,lol

I have some spores from print germinating on agar currently. It's only been a week, but see 4mm diameter growth so far on all but one plate which is lagging behind slowly so I may dump it, dunno yet.

U should transfer germination plates within a couple days of germination. If u have 4cm of growth it's time to start transferring.

GT is the best regular cubensis strain IME. Always grows well and I've had some clones that are strong as any PE.

I am! Have a bunch of gt mini monos in process!
So far the potency has been great, consumed 20g fresh and had an amazing time.
This mini is on its 4th flush and final.

This 27qt just started pinning, liking the look of things so far!

My GTs. Inoculated on oats on 1/22. Spawned to CVG on 2/26. Opened to FAE on 3/12. I'm so excited, as this is my first grow from my own spore print, 😊. They've gotten wonderfully chubby in the last couple days! I'm really enjoying seeing everyone else's projects. Thanks all!

Btw shadows cheap glass Petri dishes from china on ebay but you could probably find em cheaper or at least better from lab sites

I'm not doing boxes I'm doing jars although I could crumble them to a tray I'm not planning on it,, I could take pix of my jars but I feel like that's lame
2 are trying to catch up to 3 that are nearing the end
Planning on doing the rest of my jars with a RW print I'm happily waiting on

Ya I've read that, but I have two that I've had in the light and they're fruiting early, ones in the dark are still colonizing. :shrug:

Brf multisport shoebox starting up.  This is my second shoebox, and part of my first 12 jars ever!  I'm very happy so far, this one is doing so much better than the first.  I'm constantly learning.    I'll take more pics but, I just picked that big one earlier today and 2 others that were ahead.  It has turned blue, possibly blue/green only where I picked those 3 from.  Is it just because the substrate is dry?  It still smells good.  My last box disnt do this.  This one has shrunk considerably as well.  I figured I should wait to bottom water until after harvesting the rwst..

I call it gt they sure did look like them.

I am! I've got 2 tubs. One in fruiting now for 2 days with about 7 or so surface pins and (maybe) hundreds of side pins lol. Other tub is still colonizing all the way but I'm pumped. Never experienced psilocybin before so I'm getting antsy

You'll be happy, I remember in my teens and 20's when I would buy shrooms off whoever had them. And at the time I would of rated the trips at like a 7 or so on average. Then I tried the ones I grew for the 1st times. It was like night and day. When you get off the street you have no idea how long they been floating around for from person to person.

Followed some advice and upped my fae, tubs are putting out 15-25g wet mushies across the tub. Heres a few from today :smile:

I have perfect circles on my petri dishes for GT, took an xacto blade tip (smaller than a grain of rice, a tip of a piece of rice to be precise) and transferred maybe 3times from a shitty syringe shoot.
Doing the same thing with my KSSS, APE, RW and Luminous Lucies. Mazatec and B+ are more assholes than anything, they wont seem to grow evenly yet. Still working on them...

Ayo, jumping back into the madness after a 10 year hiatus.  Grew some B+ and Hawaiian back in 08-09.  Got myself 3 syringes a month or so ago, B+, PE, and GT.  Jumped the gun and blew the B+ syringe into 6 pint cakes, forgot how to control the plunger...

All 6 jars took 3 weeks to start to show any myc, stalled out a week after and showed some yellowing contam so I threw those sombitches in the garden (desert in the summer, GL myc..)

Threw half a syringe of PE into 6 more jars, they are approaching the 3 week mark since innoc and I'm not seeing much, a bit of yellowing on 2/6, have heard these don't like BRF cakes and/or are slow to colonize. 

SO FINALLY after fucking around, I got a PC, built a SAB, researched the shit out of agar (read like every page of Pasty plates...) AND finally got started with my GT on agar! I'm 2 days in since putting a drop in each, haven't seen anything yet. (Gotta figure out the condensation issue)  Also noc'd 12 1/2pint BRF done right with half the GT syringe.  SO I'm hoping to have some results from trusty #3! Planning on putting some of the PE on agar as well if these take correctly.  Sorry for the wall of text, had to get my first post out there! Wish me luck...
(Also I saw someone explain their use of parentheses in text (rambling thought train) and that's exactly me...Interesting world eh)

Crakatoa, what's that around your lid on the pasty plates? Micropore tape?

Super edit: I just spotted my first circle of myc on one of the half pint jars.  I assume it was from the giant spore blob that shot out of the syringe into one of the cakes.  As much as I shook, it would not break apart.  Plenty of other floaty black specks but that's beside the point! Just excited to have some reasonably quick growth.  Think it was the PC? SAB? GT spores?:wink:

Yeah think gt decides whether it's gonna be average, fast or below average speed
But honestly 1 1/2 months ain't bad at all for self made spore syringes
Spores usually take long well, obviously much longer compared to LC
This sounds dumb but I accidentally inoculated gt lc in with some Ted spores which I guess may help them in all reality because the print was so light it was invisible but I managed to successfully transfer spores and than had something unplanned happen with a syringe that had lc I was unaware of hard to explain what happened or more should I say long story but I highly doubt the ted n gt are going to breed at all I honestly saw it as a saving grace to kickstart the f outta the few ted spores
The cake is doing extremely well for an unplanned pregnancy curious as to what's gonna happen now but lol oh well think it's kinda cool
Gotta do rw's next month I'd like to start them now but will be relocating so
Not doing agar cause I need plates or else I would start and take those but managing too much at once right now and would rather not run the risk of dumb shit
Got 5 gt brf n the one zombie ted gt LC
Doesn't seem like much but can't go crazy right now
Some cakes still catching up so popping them in the fc one after another when they're ready
One gt's first day in the chamber today lookin n smellin happy as hell

You do know that mushrooms can grow larger than what they are harvested at right? You know how big gt's can get? Which is besides the point because any mushroom at full maturity will just be more you gotta eat with the same amount of chemical content
So sick of hearing cubes are weak and bunk and small and not good enough
If they aren't "strong enough" for you drink with lemon and double the potency simple as that
But that doesn't mean they're weak and boring at all
If they even have the power that they do to where you can double the potency of an already occurring chemical that doesn't make them weak that makes them badass to even have the chemicals that it does
Also sick of people with grateful dead pix or references that seem to be the most narcissistic people I've meant
Probably because grateful dead was government as all f anyway but still

Got some GT's growing at the moment using BRF cake method.
Something that seems strange to me though, anyone know why the cake on the left has no pigment in all its fruits and have flared wavy caps?
Please bare in mind that both cakes are GTs inoculated by the same syringe.

Ayy no worries, partly just writing it down for documentation for myself :P

As of a few days ago I have some growth on one agar plate, unfortunately my camera lens is shattered so I can't get any pics up.  But it looks like the myc started on the edge of the plate (agar got tilted while cooling - live and learn) and is growing in a ~1cm cotton ball like shape.  Do I wait until I get the feathery growth I keep seeing on agar plates before taking a transfer? Or can I transfer now while it looks clean and put it on the center of a new plate?

Also regarding my 1/2pt BRFs, that first one that showed myc in 6 days is nearly 50% conolized as of today.  None of the other jars are showing any signs yet.  Was super stoked that they would all be taking off after the first one, but I suppose I will just need to clone or make a LC of some of the colonized cake.

It looks like albinism but very well could be leucism
I would ask if you're using a black light but since one cake has its color I couldn't assume that although if you had it set up a certain way that could be possible but I doubt it
They maybe be from the same syringe but it is most likely genetics although not occuring in the other cake
It could've been passed down to them but even so they're beautiful and there isn't anything wrong with them just albino
Maybe there's a chance you had that one colonizing jar somewehere by a black light?

It's been a while since I said I was working with GT (and I was, but it was only on agar at the time), but I finally have a shoebox to show (5 total right now but this is the only one worth noting as the other 4 were done a few days ago and a few today. I was sorta focusing on B+ and Penis Envy at first, so this took a back seat.

T1 Transfer from agar to oats, then spawned 1:2 to baked coir/verm with a top layer at about 1/4 inch.

forgot to report back, my tub contam'd about two days after the last pic... Trich  :frightening:  honestly, that was my face as I peeked in the tub. It got buried in the worm bin, here it was when i threw it anyway



luckily I kept a jar back at spawning of the tub because it was slower and questionable... fruited it in the jar, some mutated pins coming in now. Hopefully I can get a decent fruit to clone or at least some prints so GT is not lost to me, that's about all I can salvage from the project this time



those weird pins form with the cap already open, but there is a few in there that look normal, so fingers crossed we'll get a couple of decent looking GTs

Probably I am not keeping the conditions optimal, my focus was not really on this jar at all until the tub went tits up

It's coming along but I was sad about the tub :feelsbadman:

I dont want to be rude here those are lovely mushies for sure but theyre just pscilocybe cubensis,, look it up
Alot of vendors sell them as gt but those are just pc plain and simple
Gts dont get pointed caps, or black veils at that age
Their caps dont even color that way,as in lighter on the outside and darker in the center
Ofcourse gt is related because they are the mother of cubensis but still not the same
Still beautiful though good going for sure

Damn Land Trout very impressive. The GTs I recently grew are right there in my sig. I think genetics / just where ya got your spores plays a big role in the kind of trip / potency of the shroom, just as genetics determine the look and size and canopy capability, etc. For me, my GTs weren't very potent if I'm being honest. Visually kinda lacking I would even go so far as saying. Just grew some CRS and a single gram of those was equal to probably 3gs of the GTs... I know theres potent GTs out there, just in my case not so much. Peace n shroomz

Again no trying to get on anyone's cloud but there seems to be mass confusion between pscilocybe cubensis, and golden teacher. Although gt is cubensis the variety is different than just regular pc plain and simple.
Pscilocybe cubensis that is not a variation of anything looks exactly like what you've got
GT has white petruding dots everywhere as aminita, they don't grow that tall by the time their veils break. Of course you can grow them taller after they break, but they do not get that giant black veil that is present in plain old pc
And the cap coloration is easily detectable compared to PC. PC is alot different
But still beautiful box you've got

Sometimes GT do look like regular cubes, some of my tubs don’t have these white spots and I’m positive there GTs. I don’t believe there’s any confusion, GT is a regular cube:shrug:

probably I will just make a tea out of them tonight...

dunked in the jar, gonna give them a light sprinkle of dry verm as they come out and go for round 2 and see if some better looking individuals come out

not much blueing at all on these, the PF Classic I grew showed a lot more reaction, I know that doesn't mean much, just saying

Yeah, I got a spore print that the vendor sold as GT, so its not the original clone.  They come out looking like what the general public refers to as golden teacher.  So Im out of this thread

Interesting... my gt’s always look different than the other pc’s I grow. The Burma variety looks different as well tho..

Exactly what I'm saying here,, you cannot take the spores of psilocybe cubensis, grow them and have them coming out looking how gt's look. They will just be psilocybe cubensis. Like the spores they came from. And I have yet to take golden teacher spores, and grow tall ass pale capped mushrooms with a giant black veil.
Your burma variety of GT look different, because it is a different variety of GT
But once again, you are never going to be able to take those Burma spores and get something that looks exactly like just plain GT from growing them, or just plain PC from growing them
No, you will be growing more Burma varitey. And it will look exactly how the mushrooms look in which you got the spores from
Like that guy said trying to say I'm wrong because cubes are cubes yes, all cubensis are infact cubensis but they are not all the same in appearance are they? There is a reason for that. And that is why there are different varieties because they are not literally all the same with the exclusion of PE at all. If that was the case I should be able to get tall ass completely different looking PC's from a golden teacher print but that just isn't how it works. Why do you think there is still so much confusion, not only here but in the scientific field as to how and why different cubensis even came to be in the first place. GT is still a mystery. If it wasn't a mystery, it wukd just be called psilocybe cubensis but it isn't, that is why it has a different name as well as appearance that is evident.
People think they are getting golden teacher spores because vendors will label them as that, when they are also confused about it which is understandable. I'm sure some people think that how golden teachers actually look, are what pc's look like and vice versa. Vendors are known to confuse people but it is the same within the growing community as well, and basically all around. Like let's say you bought pot seeds from someone, they told you it was northern lights. And because you believed them you thought you actually have northern lights but instead you've been growing white widow
So you've been selling it to everyone under the name northern lights
Than that person grows it, and believes it is northern lights also because you told them it was because of your vendor
Than one day someone comes to you both and identifies it as white widow, confusing you both because of one person who said it was otherwise in the very beginning of the mess.
Than you show them an image of actual northern lights, and actual white widow to show them what they have.
Than they sat no, because these plants are both weed I should be able to take these northern lights seeds and grow White widow from them anyway
Now I know mycology is more complicated than this, but this is the simplicity of what is actually going on here.
And this example could spiral so far that one day what northern lights actually looks like is now believed to be white widow, and how white widow looks everyone calls northern lights
This has already happened with a million and one things so if it wouldn't have happened to mushrooms by now I would think to be amazed that it hasn't. Because mushrooms have tons and tons of varieties until who even knows what the original actually was anymore right? No matter, you still cannot take the spores of one cubensis, grow it and expect to get a different looking cubensis because "all cubes are the same" that is not the case, at all. It is mass confusion that is the case here

I know that psilocybe cubensis is a species
But there are subspecies of it, or let's say varieties as they are called.
That is why not one of them is the same as the other, that is why there are variations in the first place
Or else we'd all be extra confused
And all cubes would just be PC plain and simple but that just isn't how it is mang

Sounds like story time to me. Just because it's not the desired monoculture doesn't mean it's not GT. I hear TCs saying a cube is a cube, except for PE and I think I'll trust them over some random on the internet. Anyway, good luck, I'll be posting my results if any in the the Cultivation Picture of the Day.

What makes you less of a rando on the internet than me, so how am I to take your word? It was not story time, I was trying to make good examples for people to easily understand. All cubes do not look identical for a reason
The only difference between a PE compared to all the rest is the potency but it is still cubensis lol
Why put PE above so many cubes when all the difference is, is potency? Like okay at that point you may as well grow something that is potent above cubes period if that's all that's cared about when it comes to cubes, or we only differentiate one variety compared to all the rest just because of potency
Seems pretty rude to me
All the rest are the same except for PE cause it's more potent.. lol
They're all still unique from each other. Even if they fall under the same species that is why they have different names, for identification purposes because they are all unique to each other. That's all I'm saying here

Had white fuzz (contam) so I vacuumed it out and this happened. Glad i got something from these two tubs. Harvester right today, left tonight or tomorrow. All small fuckers because of high moisture...

Yeah no doubt something is better than nothing and at least it was a moisture lesson in disguise? I could see how it would be exceptionally harder to not have it should I say, over moistened within a shoe box. I've never done them, but I can tell that the small amount of breathing space would cause over humidity even if you didn't overmist
That's why alot of the times I feel that I see the only time there has been actual cobweb mold is with trays, and once in a while grain jars, that have small room for air in them to get stagnant humidity
I will eventually start trays but I honestly enjoy doing cakes so much. Now I know the amount and the speed would be a world of a difference with trays, and that's why I would also enjoy that
Also I don't over fear contams so I wouldn't mind doing them but I can definitely see how they are more prone to it

Lol. No brotha, those aren't shoeboxes, those are 64qt tubs. I mixed the sub too wet, got the ratios down now...
Just made some shoeboxes from the left over grains I used for G2G. I made some KSS, APE and a lucid variety. Doing tubs of those in about a week or two.

Pulled about 100 dry off both, so I'd say 50 dry each.second flush "should" bring more dry weight, I'll update when they come in...

Total yeild for those 2 15qt and 2 shoeboxes of G.T. first flush was 122g dry. 6qts of spawn used so right on target. Hoping for another 3 second flush :smile:
