Fixing matted mycelium?

I was wondering if anyone has any effective ways to “fix” matted mycelium in a shoebox.  I believe I was misting too much which could’ve possibly caused the issue in the first place.  I’ve heard everything from “scrape off the top layer” to “provide more FAE”, the latter has already been done.

If you are growing cubes it doesn't matter, pins will push through it if the surface is matted. Pictures really help people give you more complete information and advice.

Let it fruit a 1st flush even if its shitty. Dunk and flip it (If it's fucked) for the next flush. Sometimes you get a do-over.

Still waiting on a first flush and it’s been about 8 days, pretty sure there aren’t any hyphal knots either :/

Most of the time it takes 10-14 days for me to see mushrooms.
