I recently went to a live auction where a local university was liquidating some random lab equipment. I happened to get a small collection of Benchmark B1000 Micro-Sterilizers (see image).
1) I've heard that these things can be used to sterilize needles for substrate inoculation (indoor mushroom growing). Is this true? 2) Assuming yes, could anyone else on here use one of these things? I have 5 of them, and really only need one.
They look useful for doing agar work. That way you don't have to touch a bunch of extra stuff like my torch. I would get one depending on the price. Everywhere I've seen them they are stupid expensive though, a torch is like $15 at most lol.
