some facts like
the planet is not flat
are not political propaganda

equally the following are truths
the last 20 years have included the hottest 18 years on record
the polar ice caps are melting causing sea level rise and coastline destruction
the oceans are heating up destroying marine ecosystems
species are already dying off due to the 3 points above
humans are the primary cause of it but the warming of permafrost and sea floor are releasing methane that was not accounted for in the earlier estimates that make remedy more urgent.
this is a little different than

But it is so much easier to just pretend it's not happening. That way we don't have to inconvenience ourselves, or be subjected to the horrors of rational fact-based thought.

For some people, the truth represents everything they've built their lives hiding from.

Now the real problem is the yankees ripping down our statues!

those statues are a total side issue.
We are all losers now,  the entire social fabric is at risk (i.e. food production and distribution, energy, housing, communication, education, health services).

the enemy is not coming at us with guns, its coming with environmental disaster.

The NRA could focus on a real problem, the militia needs to be armed with information and communications, more than with bullets.

Feinstein is a corporate hack, she will roll on her back for a dollar of sweet donor money.

If status quo keeping political hack needs a definition, Feinstein is the standard.

Legit H.R. 1 and Green New Deal will begin to break apart the walls that separate the classes of citizen we see in the US today. If we can remove Gerrymandering, if we can allow citizens to vote online, if we can bar members of Congress from serving on corporate boards, if we can make donor money or 'dark money' transparent as public information, we can see into the corruption that has spread throughout congress. More clearly than even before.

And to this we can add millions of jobs in construction and renewable energy resources via fair taxes to those who currently do not pay them. It was in the 'Golden Age of Capitalism', the 'Decade of Prosperity' that America grew to become the superpower it is now and that was through progressive ideals.

The democrats we have now are merely riding the wave of left progressive movements in hopes they can throw smoke and mirrors to keep the status quo, maintain gradualism and prevent the boat from being rocked.

We need real change in America and for the world to follow, for this it means Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Tulsi Gabbard, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez and Ro Khanna.

If you can't see eye to eye with me, let me know, and we will come together, because there is a movement for the people, the majority of the people, for those of us who aren't millionaires or billionaires, we have chance.

I might be knocking on doors some time soon so this sort of discussion is surely of importance to me, and I hope to develop my understandings further in the future.

Not so hopeful to learn anything from here but still I'll spread my seed.

hang onto that seed, you may need it!

I like the enthusiasm and the main direction, though it needs a few specific large scale disaster plans for food and energy production with accommodation and refugee support.
like the bomb shelter approach in 1959, cataclysmic rescue and shelter will keep the focus on what is going on - hearts and minds have to be engaged.
A bit of fear and effort to replace obliviousness and oblivion.

note,
many refugees in near term America will be American tax payers whose houses, jobs, and families may be wiped out by storms floods, blackouts etc.

Relatively short term goals mate, H.R. 1 can make a difference in building political momentum while the Green New Deal addresses the issue of emissions reductions and sustainable energy production, it would make a real difference by 2030 if implemented. It also creates a lot of jobs.

Refugees and cataclysm comes after the fact so for now it’s a good first step to at least get foot in the door.

research is good, and implementation of those uranium siphons that they are rolling out now, for consumption of  nuclear energy. this could save the planet.

there, OP, you ask, and you shall receive.

this entirely assumes democracy is intact, which according to a study done by princeton is not at all the case.
I have a lot to say about this, but I don't have the time at the moment. so for now,

The higher cost of energy will also cost millions of jobs and the potential death of millions of humans. There's no free lunch here.

Our whole existence in a modern economy is completely based on the return on energy investment, the cheaper the energy results in a higher standard of living.

Nuclear energy should be the best choice, but nothing is being done about it.

how surprising, neither link uses your confusing term siphon, still the idea of renewable nuclear power that can be extracted from sea water is not something I want to invest towards, being that nuclear waste disposal is still, after over 60 years of operations, completely unsafe - must be guarded by military, and is vulnerable to seismic as well as insurgent disturbances.

great stuff if you need a dirty bomb, however.

we realistically do not want to increase nuclear energy unless everything else which has not yet been tried has already failed.

creating radioactive waste that lasts for hundreds of thousands of years is the opposite of intelligent, nuclear power has snuck into the limelight because it is not a carbon polluter, it is actually much worse but in a different direction.

cost is not going to decide if or how we wipe ourselves out of the universe.

we have a massive nuclear reactor that supplies the entire food chain with energy. it's called the sun. I saw a video of a wave pool that uses a buey to push waves outwards. couldn't we then use the kinetic energy of the waves to power several generators? wouldn't this increase the power put into the system?

i agree except that it seems there will be no alternative for now. so that's why i mentioned that there are improvements in technology that allow for a greater viability for NOW.

costs for solar power is too great- to produce all the panels needed, one would need to boost production- the production that already pollutes the environment.

so 2 costs: money, and time.

incomplete argument there about "noting expense".

The fact of the matter is that any tooling up is going to produce waste in our current technological phase, but we still have to choose to create the tools we need to get through the chaotic weather, polar melt driven floods, and heat driven species deaths while addressing human long term survival.

Yes, we should be cognizant of clean-up costs all along the way (the costs of redeploying green house gas fostering industries towards alternate energy production and storage, alternate food production and logistics, and spontaneous disaster driven waves of refugee accommodation and resettlement).

The long game is survival of humanity, and learning to add as little as possible to long term impacts of radiation, poisonous pollution, species death/ecosystem death, green house gases, and dangerous weather patterns.

Just thinking in these terms contorts capitalism from it's blinkered flat earth growth mentality into a more life-oriented commercial circulation system.

From the perspective of my experience, this can't all be for nothing. It is a structured, designed environment for some purpose, it can't just go up in smoke. I have the utmost faith that we will mitigate climate change. I wouldn't be surprised if the designers of this simulacrum intervened in the Cold War.
